How to get admission in IISc Bangalore without GATE 2024: IISc Bangalore is one of the leading engineering colleges of India offering M.Tech admissions. The M.Tech admissions in IISc Bangalore were done through GATE COAP counselling only. However, from the academic year 2024, IISc Bangalore is offering M.Tech admissions through the CFTI mode of entry. Candidates who got a low GATE 2024 score or didn't appear in GATE 2024, don't need to worry about their MTech admission to IISc Bangalore anymore. IISc Bangalore has announced that it will offer admission without a GATE 2024 score, directly through the CFTI Mode of Entry.  To get admission to IISc Bangalore without GATE 2024; via the CFTI mode of entry, you need to have graduated from a four-year course at any Centrally Funded Technical Institution and achieved a minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10, or an equivalent score defined by your specific department or field of study.

There are a total of 37 seats available in the MTech department for students taking admission through the CFTI mode of entry. The application process for the CFTI mode of entry will open on March 20, 2024. The last date to apply for admission to IISc Bangalore without GATE 2024 is April 29, 2024. By taking this step, IISc Bangalore has made the M.Tech admission process easy at its institutes. IISc Bangalore Admissions 2024 Without GATE: Selection Process

IISc Bangalore is offering M.Tech admission without a GATE score through the CFTI Mode of Entry. IISc Bangalore admissions 2024 without GATE will be based on Career Analysis Marks (CAM- 70% Weightage) and interview performance (30%). Candidates need to perform well in the interview round also to get admission.

Candidates can apply to up to three specializations from the MTech. courses.

What After the Interview Round?

  • The names of the candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview will be shown on the applicant's interface on the IISc admission portal. Shortlisted candidates can print off their interview letters from the corresponding candidate's LOGIN page and make the required preparations to attend the interview.
  • Candidates called for interviews must provide certified copies of all transcripts (marks cards from SSLC or its equivalent onwards, degree certificates of qualifying examinations, etc.) and present them to the interview committee; otherwise, they will not be interviewed
  • SC/ST candidates should produce their original caste/tribe certificate, issued by a competent body, for verification.
  • OBC applicants from the non-creamy layer/minorities (as stated in the Central list) must submit valid OBC-NCL certificates issued on or after 01 April 2024 by a competent authority at the time of interview.
  • Candidates from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) must show the original Income and Asset Certificate issued on or after April 1, 2024, by the relevant authorities.
  • Candidates belonging to the persons with disability (PwD) and Kashmiri-Migrants (KM) categories should produce the originals of the appropriate certificates, issued according to Government of India rules, and Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families living in Kashmiri valley should produce Kashmiri valley domicile certificate.

Admission in IISc Bangalore without GATE 2024: Eligibility Criteria

To take admission in IISc Bangalore without GATE 2024; through the CFTI mode of entry, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements.

  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have graduated from any Centrally Funded Technical Institution after completing a course of at least four years.
  • Minimum Marks: Applicants who have passed with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10 or its equivalent as applicable to different departments/disciplines are eligible to apply for this course using the CFTI Mode of Entry without qualifying for GATE.
  • Appearing: Applicants with educational qualifications, including those in the final semester/year of their qualifying examinations, are eligible to apply; however, they must complete all of the requirements for awarding the degree (such as examinations, project dissertation, viva voce, etc.) by July 31, 2024, and must provide the necessary certificates on or before October 31, 2024.

Are CFTI Mode Candidates Eligible for Scholarships at IISc Bangalore?

Dear Student,

Unfortunately, Sikkim Manipal University does not offer M.Tech as a distance course. If you want to take admission here, you will have to enrol in a regular 2-year MTech course in Communication and Signal Process, Computer Science & Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Power Electronics. There are other PG distance courses available at Sikkim Manipal University-Distance Education (SMU-DE), like MBA, MCA, and MSc (IT), which are UGC and Distance Education Board (DEB) approved.
