Stress is not age specific, the hard going routine of today’s era can easily make the students stressful. The overburdened studies, career prospects and responsibilities are anyway demanding. In such a hush-hush life, one must have to keep certain things in mind so that they can keep the stress away a mile.
To take a control over stress as difficult as you might think. It could be managed by taking charge: of your lifestyle, thoughts, emotions, and the way you deal with problems. No matter how stressful your life seems, there are steps you can take to relieve the pressure and regain control.
There are certain points to help you in relieving your stress
1. Reading Books
There are an ample number of books which will make you feel less stressful. Depending upon the situation and stress you are suffering, you can choose a book. Writers like Paulo Coelho and Kushwant Singh will certainly help you. If you like poetry and play, Shakespeare is the right writer for you.
Book deviate the person from stressful stuff and indulge them in other thoughts which reduce the stress.
2. Exercise
All forms of exercise reduce stress hormones, flood the body with feel-good endorphins, improve mood, boost energy and provide a healthy distraction from your dilemmas. Plus, exercise may make you less susceptible to stress in the long run. Find physical activities that you enjoy and try to devote about 30 minutes to them each day.
3. Music
Music is an ultimate healing tonic. The rhythms and tones touch the soul and keep the hormones balanced.
Upbeat music can make you feel more optimistic and positive about life. A slower tempo can quiet your mind and relax your muscles, making you feel soothed while releasing the stress of the day. Music is effective for relaxation and stress management. Music is something that almost anybody can access.
4. Avoid Drugs
Some of us go for smoking and nicotine substances to reduce the stress. Most students drink, take drugs, smoke and use other unhealthy behaviors to cope with stress. However, these bad habits can exacerbate stress by negatively affecting your mood and health.
5. Common Stresses
Memory problems, trouble concentrating, racing thoughts, irritability, anger, sadness, headaches, frequent colds and changes in sleep or appetite are some common causes for stress. While everyone is different but these factors are the major cause of stress.
Some common solution for these problems is yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, and visualization — to see what works for you, and schedule a relaxation break every day.
6. Managing time well
Time can seem like a luxury in college, but there are various ways to manage it effectively. First, focus on one task at a time. Multitasking rarely works. Jot down everything you need to do in a calendar or a task management app/program, prioritize your list and break projects into single steps or actions.
