The IIM Ahmedabad CAT Cutoff is a crucial determiner for the first stage of the admission process which comprises of two stages. Stage 1 (Preliminary Screening)

In the first stage, which is known as Preliminary Screening, candidates who appeared for CAT and have a valid CAT 2023 score will be shortlisted for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Stage 2 (Screening for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI))

Subsequently, for the next stage, candidates will be required to meet three parameters related to CAT 2023, these include attaining the minimum qualifying CAT cutoff in sectional percentile ranks, achieving an overall CAT percentile rank that meets the IIM-A cutoff criteria, and finally, obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT. Candidates are placed through a screening process as part of the IIM Ahmedabad admissions requirements, which are based on their prior academic performance and the CAT 2023 qualifying cutoff. The best applicants from each academic field are then listed on the AWT-PI Shortlist, which is made public by IIM Ahmedabad. This stage of the IIM Ahmedabad selection process also has two different stages which are described below:

Stage 1: This stage is dedicated to the selection of exceptional performers across different disciplines. Candidates are selected based on three distinct factors which include section-wise scores in the CAT 2023 exam, performance in Class 10 and Class 12 exams, and performance in the bachelor's degree examination. Candidates are further segregated based on different criteria and disciplines in this stage itself. Stage 2: In this stage, a merit list is created for candidates who fulfilled the criteria in the previous stage and were selected. The shortlisting during this stage is done based on the Composite Score (CS), which is calculated using the following formula:
