The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Mumbai was established under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India, and the United Nations in July 1956. The institute was formerly known as Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970. International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Mumbai is the hub of health research and population training in India. IIPS Mumbai M.Phil and Ph.D. Admission 2020-21

Admission to both M. Phil and Ph. D courses at IIPS Mumbai will be done on the basis of entrance exam followed by personal interview. IIPS Mumbai M.Phil Eligibility Criteria 2020-21

The IIPS Mumbai eligibility for M.Phil course can be checked below:

  • Candidates must have passed master’s degree in any of the Population Studies/ Demography/ Bio-statistics and Epidemiology/ Bio-statistics and Demography with a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grade.

  • Foreign candidates may also apply for admission once they secure financial support from any outside agency.

  • Candidates who have cleared the qualifying examinations and others who are appearing for the final year of examination in the eligible degree may also enrol their names. Candidates from this category must note that the admission may be cancelled if they failed to provide the result till the end of September.

  • Besides this, candidates can't be older than 30 years as on 30th June of the admission year.

  • Candidates belonging from any of the reserved categories must check the relaxation offered to them as per the Government of India. Female candidates will also get some relaxation in the required percentage of eligible degree.

IIPS Mumbai Ph.D Eligibility Criteria 2020-21

The IIPS Mumbai eligibility for Ph.D courses is as follows:

  • Candidates must have passed M.Phil in any of the Population Studies/ Demography/ Bio-statistics and Epidemiology/ Bio-statistics and Demography with a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grade.

  • Foreign candidates may also apply for admission once they secure financial support from any outside agency.

  • Candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR-JRF or any other national-level fellowship are also allowed to apply for this programme.

  • Candidates who have cleared the qualifying examinations and others who are appearing for the final year of examination in the eligible degree may also enrol their names. Candidates from this category must note that the admission may be cancelled if they failed to provide the result till the end of September.

How to Apply for IIPS Mumbai M.Phil and Ph.D Admissions 2020-21?

Detailed process to fill the application form for entrance test of IIPS Mumbai is mentioned below, candidates may go through the stepwise process while filling the application form.

  • Candidates will have to go to the official website of the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Mumbai, www.iipsindia.

  • Candidates will then have to fill all the necessary details mentioned in the application form.

  • Candidates need to submit the application fee while submitting the completed application form.

  • The hard copy of the application form has to be submitted along with the required documents to “The Assistant Registrar (Academic), International Institute for Population Sciences, Govandi Station Road, Deonar, Mumbai-400088” through demand draft before the deadline.

Candidates who clear the entrance exam will be called for a personal interview at the campus. Final selection will be based on personal interview and scores in the entrance test conducted online.

Reservation for SC/ ST/ Pwd, Female and OBC candidates will depend upon the norms decided by the Government of India only.
