In the year 1920 Jamia Millia Islamia Institution was founded in Aligarh which was later moved to Karol Bagh, New Delhi in 1925.

The University bagged the tag of a Central University in 1988 under the Act of the Indian Parliament. The University provides education to all the students irrespective of their caste, colour and creed.

Jamia Millia is a dual-mode University that offers both regular and distance learning courses including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, M.Phil, PhD and Certificate courses. In September 2022, Jamia launched the Centre for Distance and Open Education (CDOE) with the help of the Distance Education Council to provide education to those students who were not able to study from the conventional systems of schooling. The distance learning programme introduced the Urdu Proficiency course which was earlier known as the Urdu correspondence course to teach Urdu to students via distance learning.

The Open Learning System at Jamia gives the students the freedom to choose their own place of study. The students get self-learning study material prints along with audio, video schedules and face-to-face counselling sessions. The objectives of the Online Distance Learning programme are:

• Students get to choose their own place of study.
• To help students determine their comfortable place and convenience.
• Students can choose their preferred subjects from a variety of courses.
• Provide Self Learning Material (SLM) in printed form.
• To offer students Workshops, Counselling sessions or Contact programmes, Audio Visual Aids, and Practical experience through Students Support Service by inaugurating Study Centres/ Extension Units.

Online registrations for Online Distance Learning programmes for the session of 2021-22 are now open at Jamia Millia Islamia, JMI. The CDOE (Center for Distance and Online Education) is going to conduct the online courses at JMI.  Applicants must register by March 25, 2022, in order to submit their applications. The details of JMI CDOE admission 2022 for UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate courses are listed below:

• Students can take admission to the Centre for Distance and Open Learning JMI courses once every year in the month of July.
• For all the other courses except B.Ed and MBA, students can take admission based on the marks obtained in their previous qualifying examination or degree.
• Candidates who want to study B.Ed and MBA at JMI need to sit for the JMI entrance exam.
• In CDOL, students can get spot admission for all the courses except B.Ed and MBA if they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the particular course, directly fill up the admission form and pay the admission fee.

Jamia Millia Islamia Centre for Distance and Open Learning 2022 Entrance Exam

Out of all the courses offered by the Centre for Distance and Open Learning at JMI, students have to appear for the entrance exam only for B.Ed and MBA courses. The details of the entrance examination are given below.

JMI Entrance Exam for B.Ed Admission 2022

The entrance examination for the B.Ed course is of two-hour duration with a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking. The entrance test will be conducted in English and the subjects covered will be:

• General Awareness consists of 40 marks
• Teaching Aptitude will be of 30 marks
• Analytical Reasoning will have 30 marks

JMI Entrance Exam for MBA Admission 2022

The entrance test for the MBA course is of 2-hour time span with a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question holds one mark and there is no negative marking. The entrance test will be conducted in English and the subjects covered in the test are:

• English Comprehension: 20 marks (Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension)
• Quantitative Aptitude and Numerical Ability: 20 marks
• Data Analysis and Sufficiency: 20 marks
• Reasoning and General Intelligence: 20 marks
• General Knowledge on Current Affairs, Economics and Business Environment: 20 marks

Jamia Millia Islamia Application Process 2022

Students can easily fill out the application form for CDOL courses by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official website of JMI, jmi.ac.in.
• The candidates have to enter their name, email ID and mobile number.
• Candidates will receive an email in their email ID and a code at their mobile number for verification.
• Activate the link from the email and enter the verification code to complete the registration procedure.
• Then, log into the ‘My Application’ section and select the ‘Application Form’ tab.
• Select the ‘Add Course’ tab and choose your desired course.
• Click on the ‘Applicant’s Details’ to fill out the application form.
• Click on ‘Save and Continue’.
• Candidates will then have to upload a scanned copy of their passport size photograph and signature which should be in JPG/JPEG format within 100KB.
• The registration process will be completed after the payment of the application fee. Students can pay the fees online by either credit card or debit card or net banking. In offline mode, the fees can be paid by demand draft or cash.

Jamia Millia Islamia Application Fee 2022

It is mandatory to pay the application fee to complete the application process. The candidates who can pay the fees online can choose either a credit or debit card or a net banking facility. While candidates who are comfortable with offline mode payment can pay the fees through demand draft or cash. The application fee for all the other courses (except B.Ed and MBA) that come under CDOL will be Rs. 500 while for B.Ed and MBA courses, the fee is Rs. 700.

To apply for any of the CDOL courses, the below-mentioned documents are a must for the candidates.

• Mark sheet and certificate of Class 10 and 12 (original and photocopy)
• Three passport-sized photographs
• Scorecard and certificate of Graduation
• Original character certificate from the last institution attended
• Migration or Transfer certificate
• Aadhaar Card
