The Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) established the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to oversee and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to more than 100 institutes, including Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), NITs, IIITs and IITs. All of these institutes will use a single platform for admissions. The purpose of creating a single counselling platform is to lessen the thousands of vacant spots in engineering schools across the nation. In order to streamline the admissions process and increase its effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and speed, the Joint seat allocation process was implemented.
In order to take part in the counselling and admissions process for numerous esteemed engineering institutes throughout India, candidates who will be qualified for either the JEE Main or JEE Advanced must register for JoSAA 2025. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) oversees the admission procedure for positions in 40 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), 26 IIITs, 31 NITs, IEST, and 23 IITs.
