- The JoSAA 2025 IIT Madras course wise seat matrix includes the number of seats available at the institute for each desired course of the candidate for all the categories. JoSAA is in charge of releasing the seat matrix for the participating colleges on its official website, josaa.nic.in. This JoSSA matrix displays the available seats for each B. Tech course across the NITs, GFTIs, IIITs and IITs. Admission into these institutes is determined by the JEE Main entrance exam scores.
The partial JoSAA admission fee is set at INR 20,000 for the SC/ST category students and Rs 40,000 for the General, OBC, and EWS category students.
In the JoSAA choice filling process, candidates are allowed to enter and arrange their choices of institutes and colleges according to their wish to be admitted to. Candidates are suggested to fill as many choices as possible in order of their preference to increase their chances of seat allotment in JoSAA.
In case, a new seat is not allotted to a candidate in the CSAB-Special round, then the JoSAA seat will be retained with the candidates.
If one does not lock their choices, the last saved choices will be locked automatically upon reaching the deadline for the JoSAA choice filling. The automatically locked choice list will be considered for allocating a seat during the JoSAA counselling process.
Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria: Must have qualified and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination and the aggregate marks for the SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
The JEE Main exam rank required for securing admission into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) depends upon the institute, course, and the category of the candidate. The higher the JEE Main rank, the greater the chance of securing admission into the IITs.
In case candidates are interested to explore various fields, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering are the best branches offered at IIT Madras. These branches boast of excellent lab facilities for machine design, thermal engineering, and fluid mechanics with top-notch equipment still unavailable in other institutes.
