The basic Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2023 for MBA Admission in Karnataka is as follows.

Basic Requirements: MBA aspirants must note that UG or Bachelor’s degree is the minimum qualification required to be eligible for MBA admission in Karnataka. The candidates must have at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree in any stream.

Entrance Exam: B-Schools in Karnataka accept almost all the national-level MBA entrance exam scores for MBA admissions. The state-level MBA admission in Karnataka is based on Karnataka PGCET MBA and KMAT score. KEA is responsible for conducting state-level MBA admissions based Karnataka PGCET MBA score.

Domicile Rules: Domicile rules apply only for state-level MBA admissions conducted by KEA. These rules do not apply for MBA admissions based on national-level MBA entrance exams.

Karnataka MBA Selection Process 2024

Karnataka PGCET 2023 Selection Process: After the announcement of Karnataka PGCET, KEA will initiate the process of Karnataka PGCET MBA 2023 counselling. The candidates must take part in the counselling process and exercise web options. The seat allocation is based on the candidate’s score/ rank in Karnataka PGCET and preference.

KMAT 2023 Selection Process: After the announcement of KMAT results, MBA colleges that accept KMAT score will issue the cut-off for MBA course and merit list of the candidates. Candidates who clear the cut-off can apply for MBA admission in the respective college.

Selection Process based on Other Entrance Exams: Colleges accepting the score of other national-level MBA exams will grant admission based on the performance of candidates in the entrance exam, group discussion and personal interview. Candidates with a valid score in any of the MBA entrance exams must apply to these colleges individually.

Direct MBA Admission/ Management Quota Admission: Candidates who did not appear in any MBA entrance exam need not worry, as they can get direct admission in MBA course through management quota of the institute.

Karnataka MBA Admission Reservation Policy 2024

The state government of Karnataka follows reservation policies for state-level MBA admissions based on Karnataka PGCET and KMAT score (only a few institutes). For MBA admissions based on national-level entrance exams, reservation policies do not apply.

Documents Required for MBA Admission in Karnataka 2024

Candidates attending the admission/ counselling process must carry the following documents with them: -

  • Karnataka Domicile Certificate (only for those seeking admission through Karnataka PGCET)
