KNRUHS placements are majorly in-house where students can start working in the university’s hospital after finishing their internship. However, the university win stars for giving importance to internships and training programme and providing students with ample opportunities. The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences has well-educated and experienced faculties who are Ph.D. holders and forefront of helping students as per alumni claims. There are hostels available for male and female students. However, as per the students' reviews on Quora, hostel facilities are not up to the mark and students often lack the proper resources except for a bed and charger port. Another drawback of the university is that it doesn't offer commute facilities like buses or vans for students which makes it difficult to attend college.

Our Take
The fact that KNRUHS didn't make it to the NIRF Rankings in the year 2023 is a bit surprising considering its previous year's ranks. One reason could be the university did not submit its rankings this year fearing a drop in its position due to some deterioration in terms of the standard of quality education, faculty-student interaction and so on. A possible decline in the rankings may be a 'wake-up call' for the university. However, if we consider overall, KNRUHS is still a highly respected university despite not being ranked in the 2023 NIRF rankings. It has a strong reputation for academics and research, and its graduates are in high demand by employers. It was ranked 20th in the 2022 India Today Rankings of Medical Colleges. We can say that the university is on the path to excellence in offering medical courses and placements considering its ranking in the medical field.
KNRUHS Academia & Batch Size
KNRUHS follows a semester system with a core focus on both theoretical education and practicals. For some courses, internships are compulsory from the second semester or final semester as per the prospectus available on KNRUHS's official website. Lectures, practical sessions, clinical rotations, and research activities are all utilized to teach students, giving a complete and hands-on approach to healthcare education.
KNRUHS Seat Intake
Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences offers several seats for various medical courses. As per the KNRUHS seat intake given on the university’s official website, Nursing is one of the key courses where around 4000 seats are offered, followed by Allopathy, and Dental Surgery with nearly 4000 and 1100 seats offered respectively.

Ayurveda | 02 | 200 | 38 | - |
Homeopathy | 05 | 450 | 30 | - |

Physiotherapy | 16 | BPT-850 | MPT-112 | - |
Our Take
The KNRUHS academic structure is good considering the college has made internship and practical training compulsory. The practical training offered by KNRUHS provides the students with hands-on experience which is essential in the medical field so they do not make any errors once they start working professionally. The seats offered for Nursing and Allopathy are aptly distributed considering their popularity. Students have better opportunities to grab a job after the completion of these courses as both Nursing and Modern Medicine are high on demand. Others like Unani and Naturopathy are far less popular with very few students applying for admission. This explains the limited seat intake. However, KNRUHS should increase the faculty and the number of seat intake for Homeopathy and Physiotherapy as these courses are gradually gaining popularity these days with several hospitals having vacancies for these specializations.
KNRUHS Infrastructure
Classroom: The KNRUHS has proper classrooms well equipped with air conditioners. There are smartboards also available in the KNRUHS classroom.
Auditorium/ Seminar Halls/ Labs: On the KNRUHS campus, there is a large and wide auditorium where numerous activities are held. There are many laboratories accessible to students from other departments.
Laboratory: KNRUHS laboratories are well-equipped with modern technology. For each respective department, there are laboratories available.
Library: The university has a proper library which is accessible online. This is good news for students who may not have time to physically visit the library as they can access the books and resources online at their convenience.
Hostel: KNRUHS offers hostel facilities to both male and female students at affordable fees.
Cafe/ Hang-out Places: KNRUHS has a proper canteen that serves hygienic food. In addition, the university also offers separate mess facilities for students who are living in the university-provided hostels.
Our Take
While all of the above facilities are available on campus, we suggest the university should work towards improving the shortcomings. The university should make arrangements for commute and provide the students access to transportation services, like buses or vans since the institute is built at a remote location. One of the biggest positives is that KNRUHS has zero tolerance for ragging. It follows strict anti-ragging legislation to ensure the safety and security of all students. Not only does this help maintain discipline within the campus but also makes students feel safe while interacting with seniors; they feel encouraged to build good relations with them or seek assistance whenever needed. Reasonable hostel fees ensure that students from all walks of life are able to afford accommodation within the university premises.
KNRUHS Internships and Placements
KNRUHS Internship
When it comes to internships, students will find ample opportunities to put their theoretical knowledge into practical learning under guidance. KNRUHS has made internships compulsory for students to pass the course which is a good step taken by the college as fieldwork is a must in the medical line to acquire expertise. During internships, students are exposed to a wide range of medical illnesses and scenarios, broadening their clinical experience and preparing them for diverse specializations.
KNRUHS Placement
The university has a placement record of 60% as per students' claims made on Quora. The university's maximum salary package was INR 34 LPA, with an average CTC of INR 8 LPA offered via KNRUHS campus placements.
Our Take
Students can work at the care hospital permanently after the in-campus mandatory internship is over. They are also allowed to take the internship credential and work in other hospitals permanently, which is a good thing as in this way university is offering employment. However, a few students on Quora have also mentioned that there are no proper placement programs at the institution, although the college does have openings and employs new doctors. In case students want to work at other hospitals, the college also helps them with finding work by referring them to the good ones. Taking all these into consideration, we feel KNRUHS has enough potential to increase its placement rates by focusing more on the placement programmes and inviting recruiters from outside. One way is to reach out to the university's career services or placement office to connect with recruiters who are currently looking for candidates having the relevant skillset.
KNRUHS Faculty/ College Administration & Management
Dr. B Karunakar Reddy is the Vice Chancellor of KNRUHS under whose vision, the university has excelled over the years. The university hires educated and experienced professionals so that students' learning experience is not compromised. The majority of the teachers have a PhD degree and are highly skilled. The college has an active administration which makes sure that there are no foul practices done in exams and also strict policies against ragging.
Our Take
The techniques/methods of teaching and infrastructure of the institute are highly appreciable. It also provides sufficient numbers of non-technical staff. As per students' claims, the faculty at KNRUHS are friendly and supportive. With more than 15 years of experience, they have the best knowledge and expertise in their respective fields of study. This university has a good ratio of well-trained and highly educated faculty members equipped with modern technology. This makes one-on-one interaction possible since there are a sufficient number of teachers attending to small batches of students.
KNRUHS Location
The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) is located opposite to Regional Eye Hospital, Rangampet, Warangal, Telangana, 506007. Being situated on the outskirts, the university frequently demands access to buses or private transportation for ease of commuting. While there may be few commercial shops in the surrounding neighbourhood, students often rely on adjacent towns or the city centre for food stores, medical facilities, and other services.
Since KNRUHS itself is a medical college, there are all sorts of medical facilities and aid available to students.
Our Take
Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences should start proper commute services so that students who live in nearby towns and districts can easily attend college. This move will also invite more applications as many students who are unwilling to apply for admission to the university fearing the lack of transportation would reconsider their decisions once they find a solution. This might be helpful in improving KNRUHS's overall reputation as a university and enhancing its position.
Expectation vs Reality CollegeDekho Verdict
Considering all the facts, and students, and alumni's reactions, Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences is a great college to pursue medicine. It has been fairly rated by NIRF, the Week, and Outlook India. Its exceptional ranking by these bodies signifies its tremendous performance in academic structure, placements, internship, research, and innovation. The university focuses on providing students with practical and hands-on experience via internships and laboratory work. However, a few of KNRUHS's shortcomings are negligible such as commute facilities, less focus on inviting top medical recruiters to campus, poor hostels, and outdated websites.
