IIT JAM 2025 Exam Centre - Important Instructions
The following are the most important instructions for IIT JAM Examination Centres:
- The candidate must take the admit card and other required documents to the examination centre. No candidate will be allowed to take the exam if he or she does not have the required documents.
- It is recommended that the candidate must arrive at the examination centre at least one hour before the scheduled time.
- No one will be permitted to enter the examination hall after the reporting time.
- No gadgets, such as calculators or electronic watches, will be permitted inside the examination hall.
- If the authority discovers that someone is cheating, his or her application form will be cancelled immediately.
- The candidate must bring these specific documents to the IIT JAM Examination Centres. Candidates who do not have the required documents will be denied entry to the examination. The following are the documents that must be brought to the examination centre: Original ID proof and Admit Card.

- Select the centre that has previously conducted many exams successfully.
- Select the centre which is easily accessible through public transportation.
- Select the IIT JAM Exam centre which is in a safe locality as candidates must always look out for their safety while coming and going from the centre.

How to Change IIT JAM Exam Centre?
When filling out the IIT JAM 2025 application form, candidates can select up to three exam centres. After selecting the first IIT JAM 2025 Exam centre, the zone will be confirmed, and candidates can only select the second and third cities from the same zone. After selecting and submitting the JAM application form, candidates are unable to change their exam locations. In exceptional circumstances, candidates may change their JAM 2025 exam centre. When the correction window opens, registered candidates must provide a valid reason for changing the exam centre via the JOAPS portal online.
The JAM 2025 Organising Committee reserves the right to add a new city, remove an existing one, and allocate a city that is not among the candidate's choices. Students can follow these steps to change their exam location in exceptional circumstances for the IIT JAM exam:
- Log into your IIT JAM application account by visiting the IIT JAM website.
- Select the "Change Exam Centre" option.
- Choose the "Exceptional Circumstances" option.
- Give a good reason for your request to change the exam location. Written proof, such as a medical certificate or a police report, must back up your claim.
- Pay Rs. 500 processing fee.
- Select the "Submit" button.
Note: The IIT JAM organising body does not guarantee to change the exam location or refund the processing fee.
