PSU Recruitment 2024 through GATE
PSU stands for Public Sector Undertakings, which are government-owned corporations or enterprises in India. Many PSUs recruit engineers through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam. The GATE recruitment process usually involves the following steps:
- Candidates first need to appear for the GATE exam in their respective engineering discipline.
- After the GATE results are announced, PSUs release their recruitment notifications specifying the GATE paper (or papers) they will consider for recruitment.
- Interested candidates then need to apply to the PSU of their choice, mentioning their GATE score and other details as per the PSU's requirements.
- The GATE score is a crucial factor in PSU recruitment. PSUs typically set a minimum score or GATE Cutoff 2024 for shortlisting candidates. The GATE score is used as a primary screening criterion to filter out candidates for further selection rounds.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for further rounds of selection, which may include group discussions and personal interviews.
- Final selections are made based on the candidate's performance in GATE, as well as in the subsequent rounds of selection.
It is important to note that the specific details of the recruitment process can vary from one PSU to another, so candidates should carefully go through the respective PSU's recruitment notification for accurate information.
Note that certain firms employ GATE scores as a direct method of recruitment, while others use these scores to shortlist potential candidates. Following this, interviews, tests, or group discussions may be conducted to arrive at a final recruitment decision. For instance, Haryana Power Utilities Recruitment relies solely on GATE scores for recruitment and does not conduct any interviews or discussions.
