Candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra can claim the Maharashtra State Candidature type in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024. Here are the MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024 domicile rules laid down by the State CET Cell that candidates should know.

MAH MBA/ MMS CET Domicile Rules

MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024 Domicile Rules: Candidates applying for the MAH MBA CET exam have to ensure that they meet the MAH MBA CET 2024 Eligibility Criteria and apply under various candidature types. One of these is Maharashtra State (MS) candidature. Candidates who belong to the state of Maharashtra can claim the MS candidature and the State CET Cell has laid down the norms governing these categories. Only candidates who specify these norms are eligible to claim any of these categories. Selecting the correct candidature type in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024 is important as that affects various aspects of the MAH MBA CET 2024 Counselling Process and MAH MBA CET 2024 Seat Allotment including reservations.

State Common Entrance Test Cell (SCET), Maharashtra conducts the MAH MBA CET 2024 for admission of candidates to MBA/ MMS colleges in Maharashtra. The MAH MBA CET 2024 exam for March 9, 2024, has been concluded and the exams for March 10, and 11, 2024, are being conducted . The MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024 online registrations started on January 11, 2024, and will continue till February 12, 2024.

Maharashtra State (MS) Candidature in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024

Maharashtra State (MS) candidature can be claimed by candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra. There are specific types of seats allocated to different candidature types in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024. Candidates claiming MS candidature type are eligible for admission in Maharashtra State Candidature Seats. Hence, it is important to select the correct type of candidature when filling out the MAH MBA CET Application Form 2024 . There are 5 distinct types of MS Candidature types in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024. A candidate can only claim one of the types, depending on which category he/ she falls under. The norms for these are defined under the domicile rules or domicile criteria for MAH MBA/ MMS CET.

MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024 Domicile Rules

The following table displays the domicile criteria for the 5 types of MS Candidature Types in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024. Candidates must carefully go through the eligibility specified in the table for each category and check the Home University allocated to the respective candidature type.

Type A

  • The candidate must have passed or passing Class 12th (HSC) OR Diploma in Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy AND the qualifying exam from a recognized institute in Maharashtra.
  • The candidate must be either a Domicile of Maharashtra AND/ OR born in Maharashtra.

Home University of the place from where the candidate passed the qualifying exam.

Type B

  • The candidate must not fall in the Type A category.
  • The father or mother of the candidate must be domiciled in Maharashtra and must possess the domicile certificate.

Home University of the place where the domicile issuing authority exists.

Type C

  • The candidate must not fall in Type A or Type B.
  • The candidate's father or mother must be an employee of the Government of India (GoI) or GoI Undertaking posted in Maharashtra State.

  • The candidate's father or mother must have reported to duty in Maharashtra before the last date of submitting the CAP Application Form.

Home University of the place of posting of the father or mother of the candidate.

Type D

  • The candidate must not fall in any of Type A, Type B or Type C.
  • The candidate's father or mother must be an employee or retired employee of the Govt. of Maharashtra or Govt. of Maharashtra Undertaking.

Home University of:

  • If Posted: the place of posting

  • If Retired: the place of settlement

  • If Deputed Outside Maharashtra: the place of the last posting

of the candidate's father or mother.

Type E

The candidate must have passed or in the process of passing Class 12th (HSC) OR Diploma in Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy AND the qualifying exam from:

  • a recognized institute located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border (MKB) area.

OR

  • a recognized institute in Maharashtra. AND They must be residing in an MKB area. AND Their mother tongue is Marathi.

Candidates will be considered for State Level seats or Outside Home University seats.

Candidates must carefully go through the domicile criteria for MS candidature type in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2023 as they can only claim a single type and will have to follow due processes regarding their home university based on the same.

All India (AI) Candidature in MAH MBA/ MMS CET 2024

Any Indian National is eligible to claim the All India (AI) candidature type in MAH MBA/MMS CET 2024. However, if a candidate from Maharashtra opts for the AI candidature, they will not receive the benefits granted to those applying under the MS candidature type. Similarly, candidates from Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) must also select this candidature type when completing the application form.

Can the MAH MBA CET application form be edited after submission?

Only before submitting the MAH MBA CET application form can candidates make changes or edit it. The application form cannot be changed after it is submitted. If candidates made a mistake, they will need to fill out a new form and make a new login account. Additionally, candidates will need to repay the application fee. There is a form correction option available, but candidates can only edit two or three fields using this option.
 

How much is the application fee for MAH MBA CET? Is there any relaxation for non-Maharashtra candidates?

The MAH MBA CET application fee, according to the most recent updates, is INR 800 for applicants in the Reserved, PwD, and OBC categories and INR 1000 for those from Maharashtra State, J&K Migrant Aspirants, and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS). Online payment is required for the MAH MBA CET application fees. There will not be a fee reduction for candidates from states besides Maharashtra during the MAH MBA CET application process.

What is the eligibility criteria for MAH MBA CET?

Aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria for the MAH MBA CET exam in order to register and appear for the exam. Candidates must check the MAH MBA CET Information Brochure for the detailed eligibility criteria. The MAH MBA CET eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50%. (minimum 45% in case of reserved category candidates).
  • Candidates who take the CAT, GMAT, CMAT, MAT, XAT, or ATMA are also regarded as eligible for admission against the All India Seats. Such candidates only need to complete the online MAH CET counseling application form according to the schedule.

Are candidates from outside Maharashtra eligible for MAH MBA CET?

Yes, under the AI quota, candidates from outside Maharashtra will be permitted to take the MAH MBA CET exam. Candidates from outside of Maharashtra who fall under the General category may apply and sit for the MAH MBA CET, but they must have received an overall grade of at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in high school (10+2). They are a part of an open pool of candidates, though, and no seats are reserved for them. MBA programs outside of Maharashtra do not accept MAH CET exam results. MBA programs accept the MAH MBA CET score in addition to scores from the CAT, CMAT, MAT, and other exams.

Is a domicile certificate required for the MAH MBA CET exam?

Yes, the MAH MBA CET exam requires a domicile certificate from residents of Maharashtra. Candidates must present their domicile certificate in order to qualify for the Maharashtra quota or home state quota in the MAH MBA CET exam. This is done in order to confirm your place of residence. Additionally, candidates must display their grades from either Class 10 or Class 12, or both. These papers will be used as evidence that candidates have completed their education in Maharashtra.
