Maharashtra HSC Exam Pattern 2025 will be uploaded on the official website of the Maharashtra Board of Secondary And Higher Secondary Education. Four compulsory subjects are included in the curriculum: English, Modern Indian Language/Modern Foreign Language/Classical Language, Environment Education, and Health and Physical Education. The theory paper for language will be conducted for 80 marks. In Environment Education, there will be an assignment or project work for 50 marks. In Health and Physical Education, the theory paper will be conducted for 25 marks followed by the practical exam for 25 marks.
There are three streams available for class 12th students to choose from. For elective subjects, students are supposed to choose four subjects from one particular stream. For most of the elective subjects, the theory papers are conducted for 70 or 80 marks depending on the subject and the rest of the marks will be allotted for the practical exams. Four compulsory subjects are included in the curriculum by the Maharashtra Board of Secondary And Higher Secondary Education for class 12 students. Students can check the exam pattern for the same here:
- Each subject has a 100 marks exam, with 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for practicals, orals, and projects.
- For the areas of agriculture science and technology, animal science and technology, biology, chemistry, geology, and physics, the theory test is worth 70 marks and the practical/oral/project is worth 30 marks.
- To pass the exam, each student must score 35% separately in both theory and practicals to be considered "Pass"

Maharashtra HSC Paper Pattern 2025

- A 25% increase in objective questions: The board agreed to include 25% objective-type questions in the HSC examination question paper as part of the updated evaluation process. These questions will be in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Reduction in total marks for final assessment: Another significant modification made by the Maharashtra Board is the reduction in total marks for final assessment.
- All topics have an internal assessment or practical component: Maharashtra Board has implemented a 20-mark internal assessment or practical exam for all subjects in class 12. The theoretical paper will now be worth 80 marks, with 20 marks set aside for internal review. These 20 marks will be bifurcated in the following way-
- 5 marks will be for listening skills
- 5 marks for speech skills
- 10 marks for the respective subject-connected activity/experiment

- Make a proper study schedule – After going through the Maharashtra HSC Time Table 2025 , candidates should make an effective study plan where they must essentially devote a proper amount of time to all subjects.
- Objective-type questions – To prepare for objective-type questions, students should have a clear concept and learn all definitions, formulae, and important terms/facts. While writing the exam, read the question and options carefully, calculate the answer first in your mind, and then choose the answer.
