NAAC Grading System

India's higher education institutions are categorised into four groups, or "A," "B," "C," and "D," according to each important factor or criterion. College performance is indicated by the NAAC ranking, which ranges from very good to good to satisfactory to unsatisfactory. The GPA is determined by the NAAC college ranking criterion, and weighting is used to generate the overall NAAC grade score for all significant factors under a particular criterion.

The final assessment result is the cumulative GPA (CGPA), which is the sum of the seven GPAs that correspond to the seven criteria and assigns the appropriate weight to each.

Benefits of CGPA for NAAC Ranking

  • Letter grades are converted to numerical rating points (the total score in the Cumulative Grade Point Average).
  • For qualitative measurements, grade points were assigned.
  • More room to normalise scores.
  • If there are extreme biases, they could be lessened.
  • Because variances and standard deviations would be lower, the relative evaluation would be more accurate.
  • Variances across peer teams are dramatically reduced.
  • The judgement would be more trustworthy if there was little opportunity for error at any point.

The CGPA determines the assessment's final result, which is then calculated from the seven GPAs of the key parameters mentioned earlier. More details are provided further down.

FAQs

What are the NAAC Colleges in Maharashtra for 2024?

Among the top colleges in Maharashtra with NAAC accreditation are Rayat Sikhshan Sansthan's Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, B.K. Birla College of Arts, Science, and Commerce (Autonomous), G.S. College of Commerce & Economics, Jai Hind College Basantsing Institute of Science, J.T. Lalvani College of Commerce, and R. J. College of Arts, Science, and Commerce.

What are NAAC's advantages?

It gives access to both federal and state funding programs. It also helps with the simple transfer of student credits and preserves the trust of the private sector in the institutions.

Who can take the NAAC?

Higher education institutions (HEIs) can apply for the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) process with NAAC if they have graduated at least two batches of students or were in operation for six years, whichever comes first.

Which is superior, UGC or NAAC?

While NAAC accredits the programs offered by the university or institute, UGC is in charge of approving universities or colleges. The University Grants Commission (UGC) provides funding for NAAC, an independent organisation.

How good is NAAC A++ College?

However, a UGC-approved NAAC rating gives the institutions a special status. The highest grades are A+ and A++, while the lowest are C and D.
