Management Quota (Category B) MBA Admission through AP ICET 2025 is one of the two pathways for admission to MBA in Andhra Pradesh . Seats offered through the AP ICET exam are divided into two categories, which include Category A and Category B. Seats that fall under Category B make up 30% of all the total seats offered through AP ICET. Both Management and NRI quotas are offered under Category B of AP ICET seats. Types of Seats Offered Through AP ICET 2025

MBA admission through the AP ICET exam will be done for all types of students. However, certain candidates are allowed concessions if they meet the eligibility requirements for certain types of seats available through AP ICET. The types of seats available through AP ICET are as follows:

  • Category A: 70% of the total sanctioned seats offered through the AP ICET exam for MBA admission fall under this category. Admissions under this category are done solely on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
  • Category B: 30% of the sanctioned seats offered through the AP ICET exam for MBA courses fall under this category. Admission under this category includes various quota-based admissions including Management quota, NRI quota, Supernumerary quota, etc.

Important Instructions for Management Quota Admission Through AP ICET 2025

Admission for the Category B seats through AP ICET is supposed to be conducted by following a set of rules and regulations that are laid down by the competent authority. Candidates must be aware of these guidelines before applying for management quota or any other quota-based admissions through AP ICET. The important guidelines for management quota admission through AP ICET are as follows:

  • A web portal by the institute shall be facilitated for Category B and NRI quota seat admissions.
  • NRI candidates (sons or daughters of NRIs) who have scored at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5 out of 10 shall be eligible for NRI quota seats.
  • After NRI quota seats have been filled, the remaining seats shall be allotted on the basis of merit under the A.P. Presidential Order 1974 to candidates who have secured a rank in any All India Common Entrance Test for the program and have at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Subsequently, if any seats remain unfilled, they will be allotted to eligible candidates who have qualified in the AP ICET examination on the basis of merit.
  • Thereafter, if any seats remain unfilled, such seats will be allotted on the basis of merit to candidates who have scored at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category candidates) in the prescribed group of subjects in the qualifying examination (10+2+3 or equivalent) under the A.P. Presidential Order 1974.
  • Finally, any vacant seats that remain, shall be filled as per the instructions issued by the competent authority..

Processing Fee for AP ICET 2025 Category B Admission

Candidates who wish to seek admission through AP ICET under the Category B seats must apply for the same through a web portal set up by the respective colleges and institutes. Therefore, it is important that candidates know the processing fee they must pay for management or any other quota-based admissions through AP ICET. The processing fee for students of different statuses during Category B admissions is mentioned in the table below:

What is the qualifying cutoff for the AP ICET exam?

According to the Andhra Pradesh ICET eligibility requirements, candidates who score 25%, or 50 out of 200, are qualified to receive a rank based on merit. Candidates from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, however, are not required to meet any minimum marks or qualifying cutoff to appear for the counselling process.

Is AP ICET mandatory for MBA admission in Andhra Pradesh?
