Mumbai University Question Papers: Exam Pattern

At Mumbai University, the examination pattern for theory assessments involves a total of 60 marks, with the University conducting this segment. Additionally, internal assessments worth 40 marks are conducted by respective colleges. Here's a breakdown of the examination pattern:

University Examination Pattern:

  • Four Compulsory Questions: Each question carries 15 marks and covers the entire syllabus. These questions offer internal options.
    • One question entails a long answer, accounting for 15 marks.
    • Two questions are designed for short answers, with 15 marks each, further divided into parts A, B, and C.
    • One question demands objective-type answers and carries 15 marks.

Internal Assessment:

  • Test Papers: The best two out of three test papers, each worth 10 marks, contribute to the assessment.
  • Assignments: The best one out of two assignments, each valued at 10 marks, is considered.
  • Attendance and Class Participation: Both elements are weighed equally at 5 marks each, totalling 10 marks.

Passing Standards:

  • A student must secure a minimum of 35% marks individually in both the Theory Examination (i.e., 21 out of 60 marks) and Internal Assessment (i.e., 14 out of 40 marks) to pass.

In order to get a seat in MBBS college offering low fees, students have to aim to secure marks higher than 650. Only then, you'll be able to get into a government college where fees are on the lower side. If students score around 500-550 marks, they can opt for these institutions that have slightly lower fees than others.

No. 256 score is well below the cutoff mark level of the Govt. Thiruvarur Medical College. Students must score at least 600-625 marks to be considered for a seat at this college. Even after using the reservation criteria, getting a seat with 256 marks is not possible. Instead, you can try opting for these colleges in Tamil Nadu.
