NPTEL Basic Biomedical Research Course Admission

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) has now opened its application process for NPTEL Basic Course for Biomedical Research. This is one of the hundreds of Online NPTEL courses conducted through 8 IITs ( IIT Delhi , IIT Bombay , IIT Kharagpur , IIT Roorkee , IIT Madras , IIT Kanpur , IIT Guwahati ) and Indian Institute of Science - IISc Bangalore . The Basic Course of Biomedical Research by NPTEL will be conducted in the National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai and the course is approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The NPTEL course of Basic Biomedical Research is a 5-months online course and a post-graduate level course in nature.

About NPTEL Online Basic Biomedical Research Course 2019-2020

To improve the research capabilities of Indian Postgraduate (PG) Medical students and faculties, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has prescribed a uniform methodology course for medical research. This NPTEL Online Basic Biomedical Research Course trains research candidates about the methodology of Biomedical Research beforehand. The course explains the methodology and fundamental concepts of researches. It also teaches to plan, outline and conducting research studies.

The examinations will take place in 6 sessions for NTPEL Basic Biomedical Research Course 2019. The examination for NTPEL BBR Course 2019 will be spread through March and April. The examination centres spread across 20 cities in India will hold the examinations. The candidates for NTPEL BBR Course 2019 can avail the sessions in the first-come-first-serve basis.

NPTEL Assignments for Basic Biomedical Research Course 2019-2020

The candidates will have to appear for online assignments in 23 Subjects of NPTEL Basic Biomedical Research Course. Each of the 23 subjects will have 10 multiple choice type questions (MCQs) of 1 mark. So, the total marks for all the assignments are 230. The candidates scoring more than 50% will only be considered passed, others can reappear for the examinations as mentioned in the date chart above. NPTEL Online Basic Biomedical Research Course Eligibility Criteria (Intended Audience & Prerequisities) 2019-20

The eligibility criteria for 2019-20 Online Basic Biomedical Research Course of NPTEL is divided into two sections. One is ‘Intended Audience,’ which lists the type of audience for whom the course is designed and ‘Prerequisites,’ refer to the previous academic qualifications which the students must possess. Both are as follows,

  • Medical PG (postgraduate) students and Medical Faculties recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
  • Candidates pursuing medical PG degrees like PG Diploma, MD , MPH and MS
  • Prerequisites
  • The candidate must have enrolled in the Medical Post Graduation Programme before 1st July 2019.

NPTEL Online Basic Biomedical Research Course Application Process 2019-20

The application process of NPTEL Online Basic Biomedical Research Course 2019-20 must be done on the Swayam portal of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The student has to create an account using E-Mail ID/Facebook ID of the candidate and fill in some additional details of address, bio-data and etc. The candidate, from his personal account, can apply to a galaxy of NPTEL courses from the SWAYAM portal itself after the announcement of an admission session.

The candidate has to find out NPTEL from the institute's list and click on it, after clicking on it, the candidate will be shown the list of courses for which, admissions are being conducted. Candidate can directly apply in the course and the course will automatically fetch the candidate’s data saved in SWAYAM portal.
