Osmania University Admission Process
Osmania University has established a separate body under its supervision that is responsible for undertaking all the admission-related activities. The body, also known as the Directorate of Admissions (DoA) is responsible for setting up universal guidelines for the Osmania University affiliated college. The Directorate of Admissions was set up in 2000 and ensures that the Osmania University admission process is completed as smoothly as possible.
Among the duties that the Directorate of admissions has been assigned with include issuing of various admission notifications, conducting the entrance examination and finalising the admission of the candidates.
Every year, the Directorate of Admissions at Osmania University releases the important notification regarding the admission deadlines and guidelines in April.The aspirants will need to keep a track of all the notifications regarding the admissions at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral level programmes. Any changes in the admission information will also be communicated by OU’s Directorate of Admissions.
Along with releasing the notification, an important task that OU’s DoA has been charged with includes conducting entrance tests for the different programmes. The candidates who have applied for the programmes will be asked to appear for the entrance exam as scheduled by the DoA. Based on the performance of the applicants, a merit list will be released by the Directorate of Admissions. The DoA also conducts a centralised counselling process for postgraduate as well as postgraduate diploma programmes.
Those who wish to take admission in any one of the colleges affiliated to Osmania University must go through the admission process for the programme of their choice. Each course will have its own eligibility criteria, application and selection process.
