Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC)

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is a nuclear research centre in India established in 1945. The centre is responsible for carrying research on nuclear and accelerator technologies and heads in nuclear power plant production.

B.E/ B.Tech Mechanical Engineering graduates can apply for the position of Scientific Officer ‘C’ Post through gate scorecard.

The upper age limit of the candidate must be 26 years while applying for the post and must have qualified GATE in the academic year to be considered for the post.

A separate application must be filled in by the candidate. Application fee for the same is INR 500.

Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL)

NPCIL is a public sector enterprise which is under the administration of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The organisation is responsible for designing, constructing and operating nuclear power reactors. All activities and projects undertaken by NPCIL are carried out keeping in mind the sustainable development.

NPCIL releases job roles for the position of Scientific Officer/C post for Mechanical engineering candidates. Those who are interested can apply through GATE. A separate application form must be filled at NPCI with a valid GATE registration number. The upper age of the candidate must be 26 years to be considered for the job role and must hold a full- time degree in mechanical/ production engineering.

The candidate is hired as an Executive Trainee in which he/ she gets a monthly stipend. After successful completion of the training, he/ she is offered the position as Scientific Officer/C in Group ‘A’

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)

NTPC is the largest power utility organisation in India and it aims to become the best power major in the world. The company is responsible for generating reliable power and ensures optimised utility of multiple energy sources.

NTPC hires Mechanical engineer freshers for Executive Trainee posts through GATE. To be considered for the post, a candidate must hold a full -time BE/B.Tech degree in mechanical engineering. Minimum marks obtained at a bachelor’s level must be 65%. The upper age limit of the candidate should be 27 years.

Candidates must first apply for GATE followed by an online aptitude test (qualifying) conducted for shortlisted candidates. Based on the performance in the aptitude test, candidates must appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Merit list is prepared considering 85% weightage in GATE, 5% in GD and 10% in the interview.

Vizag Steel

VIZAG Steel also known as Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited- RINL recruits mechanical engineering candidates through GATE.

RINL is a Navratna PSE which is administered by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Vizag steel is known for its quality long products and meets the demand of diverse Industrial sectors. It produces integrated steel and implements German and Soviet technology to provide the best services.

BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited)

BHEL is one of the largest engineering and manufacturing companies in India with 11 manufacturing units, 2 repair units, 4 regional offices,15 regional centres and 7 joint ventures across PAN India. It also has 8 overseas offices. BHEL offers a wide range of products and services to meet the needs of core sectors of the economy.

Mechanical engineering is highly in demand in BHEJ as the company is involved in manufacturing and production which demands skilled mechanical engineers. A candidate who wishes to join BHEJ must appear for GATE and apply for BHEL recruitment. Based on the marks obtained in GATE, candidates are hired as an engineer in BHEL.

DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization)

DRDO is an organisation which is involved in R&D for the Ministry of Defence, GOI. It is responsible to offer technologies and services as per the requirement of the defence sector. Working with DRDO is a prestigious opportunity.

Candidates who hold a BE or BTech degree in the mechanical engineering branch can apply for job openings at DRDO for ME qualified candidates. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply is the first division at the graduate level and qualification in NET or GATE.

IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited)

IOCL is India’s largest commercial oil company. The company is responsible for tapping various forms of energy sources like oil, gas, petrochemicals and alternative energy sources in the most responsible way and gets delivered to the consumers at an affordable price. The company offers job opportunities for mechanical engineering in divisions like Refineries and Pipeline. Refinery divisions look after the maintenance and service of equipment, pipe networks, and static devices within the plant.

Pipeline Division is also responsible for the maintenance and service of devices and equipment within the power plants. They are not responsible to look after static devices or equipment.

IOCL hires Mechanical Engineering graduates at Officer post through GATE. A separate application form must be filled for IOCL using the GATE registration number. The candidate must at least have scored 65% in the qualifying degree and the maximum age of the candidate must be 26.

HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited)

HPCL is a multinational company of Indian origin which is responsible for the production and distribution of oil and natural gas in the country.

A fresher mechanical engineer can apply for Officer Engineer post at HPCL. Candidate must first appear for GATE and based on the score they are shortlisted GD and PI rounds. The minimum eligibility criteria is at least 60% in B.E or B.Tech course.

ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation)

ONGC is one of the Maharatna in India and is the largest producer of crude oil and natural gas in India. 75% of the contribution of ONGC is for Indian domestic production. It is one of the largest exploration and production (E&P) companies and one of the highest profitable companies enterprise.

ONGC hires mechanical engineer graduates for the position of Assistant executive engineering. It offers a job role with a good package and also provides an opportunity for growth and advancement based on merit.

Minimum eligibility criteria to apply for AEE post is a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with at least 60 % marks.

Eligible candidates must appear for GATE for the academic year. Previous years marks in GATE are not acceptable. After appearing for the GATE candidate can fill in the online application on the official website of ONGC.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL)

MDL is an ISO 9001: 2008 certified Company located in Mumbai which is one of the leading shipbuilding yards in India. The company is known to produce warships for the Navy and offshore structures for the Bombay High. At present, the company designs a wide range of products for both domestic and overseas clients like vessels, warships, submarines, cargo ships, water tankers, passenger ships, fishing trawlers, barges etc. Other products include fabricated and delivered jackets, jack-up rigs etc.

Every year MDL hires engineering graduates for the position of Executive Trainees. The candidate must qualify GATE based on which they are shortlisted for interview at MDL. Eligible candidates must fill in a separate application form for MDL to be shortlisted for an interview.
Minimum eligibility criteria to be considered for the post is a BE/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical/ Electrical engineering with at least 60% from a recognised university. The upper age limit for the candidate is 28.

Delhi Development Authority (DDA)

DDA is a body which is responsible to plan and implement housing projects, contribute to land management and commercial land usage. It also provides other facilities like construction of roads, bridges, drainage systems etc. It also manages underwater reservoirs, sports centres etc. within New Delhi.

DDA offers job roles as an Assistant Executive Engineer to mechanical engineers. Eligible candidates must hold a BE/ B.Tech degree in mechanical engineering and apply for a job through GATE.

To apply for the Assistant Executive Engineer post at DDA candidate must appear in GATE. A separate application must be filled in for AAE post on the official website of DDA where you must enter the GATE registration number.

The age of the candidate must be between 21 to 30 years to be considered for the job role.
