PU CET(PG) 2020 is the state level entrance test for admission in various Postgraduate programs like LLM, MA, MSc, M.Com, MCA, ME(non GATE candidates) offered by Punjab University.
Candidates who are willing to take admission in Postgraduate courses at Punjab University must fill in the online application form and appear for PU CET(PG) entrance test. Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria and appear in the entrance test to be considered for admission. However, admission to M.Sc. (Hons.) courses at Punjab University also depend on the availability of seats. The number of seats may vary based on the number of students who are already studying in B.Sc. (Hons.) course and would like to continue in the M.Sc course at the university.

Punjab University M.Sc. (Industrial Chemistry) Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have completed B.Sc. with Mathematics and Chemistry as the compulsory subject or
Candidates who hold a B.Sc. (Honors) in Chemistry or B.Sc.Honors Chemistry with Maths as a compulsory subject or B.Sc. with Mathematics and Industrial Chemistry as the compulsory subjects, approved by Punjab University, Chandigarh are also eligible to apply.
Candidates must hold a minimum of 55% marks or 6.25 CGPA in previous years of study.
Admission is confirmed on the basis of performance in PU CET(PG) and academic credentials. Weightage of Academic marks and PU CET(PG) is 50% each.
Punjab University ME Eligibility Criteria
Here are the eligibility criteria to be apply for ME course at Punjab University:
The candidate must hold a B.Tech/ BE degree in a relevant discipline from Punjab University or other recognised universities.
The candidate must have scored at least 60% marks at UG level.
Admission is considered on the basis of GATE scorecard. Non- GATE candidates must appear in PU CET PG entrance test and attend the counselling process for admission.
Punjab University M.Sc. (Hons.) Eligibility Criteria
Punjab University offers admission for M.sc. (Hons.) in various disciplines like Physics/ mathematics/ Computer Science/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry /Biotechnology/ Botany/ Biophysics/ Zoology/ Physics(Specialisation in Electronics)/ Geology. Candidates can get admission in the affiliated college of Punjab University.
Here are the eligibility criteria for admission in M.Sc.(Hons.) course:
Candidates must hold a B.A or B.Sc. Hons. degree in relevant discipline from Punjab University or any other recognised university.
Minimum percentage at UG level must be 50%.
PU CET (PG) M.Sc.(Hons.) Paper Pattern
Following are the highlights of PU CET (PG) M.Sc.(Hons.) entrance test:
PU CET(PG) M.Sc.(Hons.) Paper is conducted in offline mode.
The paper carries 75 questions. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQโs) type questions are asked in the paper.
Duration of the examination is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Questions asked in PU CET (PG) M.Sc.(Hons.) Paper is based on the syllabus of Bachelor's degree for all the three years of Punjab University.
PU CET (PG) M.A. (Hons.) Eligibility Criteria
Punjab University offers M.A. degrees in various degree programmes like English, Geography, Physics, History, Economics, Social Work. Admission in M.A. degree programme is based on PU CET(PG) entrance examination. 50% weightage is given to Written Entrance Test and 50% weightage is for Qualifying examination.

PU CET (PG) 2020 M.C.A Eligibility Criteria

Must hold a three years bachelorโs degree from Punjab University or any other recognised university or must have completed B.C.A from Punjab University.
Must have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Must have scored at least 50% in previous years of study.

PU CET(PG) Admission Process
Candidates who are willing to take Admission in a post graduate course at the affiliated colleges of Punjab University must appear in PU CET (PG) 2020 for a specific course. Check the step- by- step procedure to complete the admission process for PG courses:
Step 1: Fill the online Application Form
The online application form for PU CET(PG) is released on the official website of Punjab University. Candidates must fill in the online application form and pay the application fees.
Step 2: Pay the Application fees
Following are the application fees for PU CET(PG) entrance examination:
General Category: Rs. 2175/-
SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 1088/-
Additional Course: extra Rs. 575/-
Step 3 : Attend PU CET(PG) entrance examination
Candidates who apply for PU CET(PG) must appear for the examination for a specific course. Paper Pattern varies for different courses. Ensure to carry an admit card on the day of examination.
Step 4: Wait for Result
Punjab University releases the result on its official website. Candidates can check the result online as no separate result card is sent to the candidate.
Step 5: Check the Merit List
Candidates must at least score a minimum of 20% of the total marks of the entrance examination. Only those candidates' names appear in the merit list. Cutoff marks for MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) is 40% and MA English and History courses are 35%.
The final merit list is prepared by the concerned department or Institute. Various factors like eligibility criteria, weightage, number of seats are considered for admission in postgraduate courses.
The number of seats for M.Sc. (Hons.) courses may vary as the availability of seats depends on the number of candidates who are already pursuing M.Sc. (Hons.) courses from Punjab University and wish to continue M.Sc. (Hons.) from the same university.
PU CET(PG) Counselling Process
Once PU CET(PG) examination is conducted successfully, the Punjab University releases the merit list of candidates. Candidates whose name is on the merit list must attend the counseling process. Candidates must attend the counselling process in person on the defined dates. Only those candidates who attend the counselling process will be considered for admission in a specific course.

The candidate must attend the counselling process in person.
On the day of counselling, the candidate must mark his /her attendance.
Candidates must carry relevant documents on the day of examination which is as follows:
Class X marksheet
Class XII marksheet
PU-CET (PG) 2020 Rank card
Transfer, leaving certificate, Migration Certificate
Caste Certificate, if applicable
Passport size photograph.
