Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences is located in the scenic Kasauli Hills, Solan Himachal Pradesh. Shoolini University since its inception 2009, has been providing numerous opportunities in the field of research. Shoolini University provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There are seven hostels. Hostels at Shoolini University are fully furnished with modern amenities like automated laundry services, indoor gym and cineplex and unisex saloon. Good Host Space (GHS), an American MNC, maintains these hostels. The institution promises to provide security for girls and medical emergency services around the clock. All the hostels are Wi-Fi enabled. Students can have snacks and refreshments 24/ 7. Hostels serve multi-cuisine meals. Almost every year, the hostels are full. The university conducts many fun-filled programmes for hostellers. Most of the students are of the opinion that their hostel wife is memorable.

Our Take:
According to the report by Alumni, the institution offers impeccably first-class hostel facilities as it promises. Students say that around 50% of the total strength stays in the hostel. An important thing to be noted is that the hostel provides limited laundry facilities and does not provide local travelling. Students often wonder why the management cannot lift restrictions for limited laundry. The security for the girls is provided around the clock by arranging female security guards and CCTV surveillance at all entry and exit points, according to a former students' report. The university keeps its promise. A big tick on that.
Library
The library at Shoolini University is known as the Yogananda Knowledge Centre (YKC). YKC is a world-class library consisting of a wide range of book collections, journals and periodicals. Students say that YKC contains around 30,000 books along with 10 lakh e-books. The library is open 24/7.
Laboratories
The institution has advanced laboratories equipped with modern technology. Language labs are available too. The laboratories at the university have innovative technology. Around 100+ labs have been arranged to enhance the learning experience of the students.
Cafeteria
The institution has a very good cafeteria. According to the former students, the canteen at the university is their one of the favourite places is ‘Neermal Canteen’. They say that it offers a variety of food items which is as good as their home food.

The students of biotechnology take part in project-based industrial training for which the institution awards credits. Biotechnology students who are in the 7th Semester are offered internships by various firms. Shoolini University has an excellent placement cell, which invites various MNCs and reputed companies for the recruitment process. The placement cell trains the final-year students and prepares them for the campus drives. The university professes that the highest package offered is INR 18,00,000 and the lowest package offered is INR. 8,00,000. According t the NIRF data 2023, out of 191 students in B.Tech 80 were placed in the top leading companies during the placement drive 2022. This means the placement percentage for B.Tech is 41.88%. According to the NIRF data, Shoolini University placement record is pretty good and a B.Tech undergraduate can earn around 5 lakhs and post postgraduate in Management courses can receive around 6 lakhs per annum. The placement cell of Shoolini University is very active, supportive and doing a wonderful job, helping them get placed in reputed companies. The university can still improve the percentage of placement, as there is scope. According to the students' report, the CSE and Electronics departments of graduation, the placement percentage is comparatively less and the university can aid the candidates to get placed.

The university claims to have well-experienced and highly qualified faculty. Most of the professors are PhD holders. According to the alumni, the university does not have enough classrooms to conduct offline classes and has small playgrounds. University perhaps should live up to the expectations of the students.
