State Wise Counselling Schedule for B.Tech Admission 2020

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2020 will be declared and all engineering aspirants will start shortlisting colleges, checking the eligibility, deciding which course to take, etc. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (abbreviated as JoSAA) will release the results and other notifications with respect to B Tech admissions 2020. After the declaration of results students have to wait for colleges, institutes, and universities to announce their cut off so that they can narrow down upon their options of institutes to get admission in. A standard procedure is followed every year wherein colleges announce their cut off scores and students are then called for the counselling process. The counselling process involves checking the eligibility of students, verifying their documents, and allotting them seats after they choose their subjects of preference.

The admission process may vary from state to state and college to college. Most universities and colleges select candidates on the basis of their marks in JEE and as per the rules prescribed by JoSAA. The colleges prepare a merit list after gauging the JEE marks and students are called for the B.Tech counselling process after that. We are providing the state-wise B.Tech counselling dates (tentative dates) for admissions in 2020. Candidates can check the counselling process and documents required for admission as well.

B Tech Counselling Procedure 2020

The B.Tech counselling in almost all the states is being done through the online mode now. Students do not have to visit the college or institute for their B.Tech counselling process. B.Tech counselling 2020 is also to be done online for all the states. All the steps of the entire process are enumerated below. Candidates should follow the guidelines of each college and apply for the counselling procedure to be considered for admission.

  • The first step is for the candidates to register themselves on the official website of the state examination. They have to register themselves for the B.Tech counselling 2020 of the states they want to take admission in. This can be done by logging on to the official website and making the payment of the counselling fee online.

  • After registering themselves for the counselling, students will have to fill a form giving their preference of colleges and B.Tech courses. They will have to select the colleges they wish to take admission in and also select the B.Tech specialisations they want to pursue. Candidates should be very careful while doing this because they will be considered for only those subjects and colleges that they select.

  • When these steps are done, the colleges will allot seats to the candidates after considering their merit, choice, availability of seats, etc. Some colleges keep a mock allotment round before the actual seat allotment so that the students get familiar and comfortable with the process.

  • When the candidates have been allotted a seat in a particular course of a particular college, they can either accept it and lock it or wait for other seat allotment rounds to see if they might get upgraded to another course of another college or another course of the same college. The candidates need to lock their choices accordingly.

  • After the final seat allotment, candidates have to accept the seat and pay the fee for the B.Tech course that has been allotted to them. The fee payment is also done in the online mode. Candidates can use a debit/ credit card for payment or choose the method of net banking to transfer the fee.

Documents Required for B Tech Admission 2020

Before finally admitting a student to the college, the authorities verify their documents to check for any discrepancies or failure to meet the eligibility criteria. A set of documents are to be produced by the students for getting admission in any college. Even for the application process, copies of some important documents are to be submitted. The list of documents required for B.Tech counselling 2020 is provided below. Candidates should make sure that they have all of these documents:

  • Mark sheet of class 10th

  • Mark sheet of class 12th

  • Any photo identity card (Aadhar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Driving License, etc.)

  • Passport sized photographs of the candidate

  • Provisional seat allotment letter

  • Scorecard of the entrance exam given by the candidate

  • Admit card of the entrance exam given by the candidate

  • Proof of the candidate’s date of birth

  • Category certificate (if applicable)

  • Certificate of disability (if applicable)

After the documents are verified, the candidate will have to appear at the college or university and pay the balance fee. Post this, his/ her admission will be confirmed.
