TNEA Tie Breaking Policy 2024
A tie-breaking policy is applied if two or more candidates secure the same rank or merit. The policy will help DOTE to resolve the tie. The following rules are applied –
Tie Breaker 1 | Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics shall be allocated a higher rank. |

Tie Breaker 2 | If the tie persists, higher marks scored by a candidate in Physics shall be taken into consideration to determine rank/ merit. |
Tie Breaker 3 | If the tie persists after applying the above rules, the candidate with higher marks in the 4th optional subject shall be allocated a higher rank. |
Tie Breaker 4 | If the tie persists after applying the above rules, the Date of Birth of a candidate shall be taken into consideration. Candidates older in age will be allocated a higher rank. |
Tie Breaker 5 | If the tie persists after applying all the above rules, a Random Number will be used to determine the merit. Candidates with a higher value of random number shall be allocated a higher rank. |
What after Random Number TNEA 2024 Allocation?
