Toughest Paper of GATE 2025: The GATE examination is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India that grants admission into IIT, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs and also opens doors for government jobs in PSUs. There are 30 papers on different engineering/science/social sciences specializations in the GATE 2025 exam . The difficulty level of these GATE papers varies depending on syllabus topics, question pattern and type etc. Those of you who have appeared in the GATE exam this year or are planning to sit for the test next year must read this article to know which is the toughest paper of GATE 2025. Based on the exam analysis of February 1 and February 2, the toughest papers of GATE 2025 so far are Naval Architecture (NM) and Architecture and Planning (AR). As per the student's feedback for GATE February 15 and 16, exams the toughest paper for GATE 2025 were Civil Engineering (CE), Electronics and Communication (EC), and Chemical Engineering (CH).

Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are the two most opted papers which are not usually the toughest papers. The highest marks for these two papers are usually between 85 to 90. However, in the GATE 2025 examination CE and EC papers were tough to solve with tricky questions. Since, these two papers were toughest in GATE 2025, their highest marks will most expectedly vary this year and will be less than 80.
