TS ICET Normalization Process

The TS ICET normalization process 2025 refers to the method that is used by the exam-conducting authorities to make sure that each student from different TS ICET sessions is ranked without any bias or advantage. Since TS ICET 2025 will be conducted in 3 shifts on June 8 and 9, 2025, the difficulty level of the questions is bound to vary among these sessions. Hence, chances exist that there will be slight differences in the difficulty level of each paper, leading to unintentional advantages or disadvantages to students of a certain slot. This is why normalization is used to adjust for any such variations in the difficulty levels of various sessions. This article will provide candidates with an idea of how the normalized marks of the candidates are calculated and how TS ICET 2025 results are compiled, which will be announced on July 7, 2025 on the official website.

How is the Normalized Score Calculated in TS ICET 2025?

TS ICET normalization process ranks all students on a comparative scale on all the exam sessions. The marks scored in the easier session may be reduced marginally and substituted in the harder session based on the average performance of the candidate. In case there is not much difference between the sessions on average, there will not be any difference in the normalized scores of TS ICET as well. The formula for calculating the normalized marks of a candidate in the TS ICET exam is as follows:

  • GASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of all the applicants across all sessions of the subject together.
  • SASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of the subject of a session in which the applicant appeared.
  • GTA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of all the candidates across all the sessions of the subject together.
  • STA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the subject of a session in which the candidate appeared.

For candidates for whom there is no qualifying cut-off in TS ICET 2025, if the marks in TS ICET 2025 after normalization are below zero (negative), the mark is treated as zero. If the tie persists, then TS ICET 2025 normalization marks (though negative) are considered for tie resolution.

After the normalization process, the MBA and MCA colleges in Telangana start the admission process accordingly.

Importance of Normalization in TS ICET 2025

Normalization is a necessary process while calculating the TS ICET result. The process brings all the sessions together on a common comparative scale. The marks of the easy session may be slightly brought down, and the marks of the difficult session may increase marginally on a global scale. The process works by taking the average performance of all the sessions.

As the conducting body focuses on preparing exam papers of the same difficulty level, the effect of the normalization process is marginal. The normalization process has been adopted by many competitive examinations in India, such as the CAT exam , GATE exam , and JEE exam , to avoid giving an advantage or disadvantage to the candidate in a particular session as compared to others. Dear Student,

You may have a chance to secure admission to IMS DAVV if your CMAT 2025 percentile is 93.8 since you belong to the OBC category. The IMS Indore Cutoff for OBC Category in terms of closing rank was 211 for Round 1 of MP counselling last year.
