Reservation Policy for UPTAC BTech Admission 2024

The UP BTech admission reservation policy of the state of Uttar Pradesh is divided into two types –

Vertical Reservation (Category-Based Reservation)

A total of 50% of engineering seats in Uttar Pradesh are reserved for the OBC, ST and SC category candidates. The details are provided in the table below -

UPTAC BTech Selection Process 2024

The selection process for the UP B.Tech admission courses in the state of Uttar Pradesh is completely based upon the merit and rank secured by the candidates in the JEE Main exam. The UPTAC BTech seat allotment process 2024 involves various stages, which can has been explained below –

UPTAC BTech Seat Allotment Results: AKTU will publish the UPTAC BTech seat allotment result on its official website based upon the choices filled by the candidates. Candidates can check the UPTAC BTech seat allotment result 2024 and choose the Freeze, Float or Withdraw option.

• Freeze: Candidates who are satisfied with the UPTAC BTech seat allotment have to select the ‘Freeze’ option, which signifies that they are confirming the allotted seat. Such candidates are not allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds of the UPTAC B.Tech admission process.
• Float: Candidates who look for the upgradation of the allotted seat should select the ‘Float’ option, which implies that they are confirming the current allotted seat, and are looking for the upgradation of the seat. Such candidates can participate in the subsequent rounds of the UPTAC BTech seat allotment process.
• Withdraw: Candidates who wish to opt-out of the UPTAC UP B.Tech Admission process 2024 will be required to select the ‘Withdraw’ option, which signifies that they will not be allowed to participate in the subsequent rounds of the online counselling process. INR 2,000 will be deducted from the UPTAC BTech counselling fee paid by the candidates, and the remaining amount will be refunded to their respective bank accounts.

Physical Reporting to College: After confirming the allotted seat, the candidates shouldreport to the respective college with UPTAC BTech seat allotment letter (to be printed from the official website). Such candidates must pay the remaining tuition fee for the first-year B.Tech course.

Note: AKTU conducts three rounds of online counselling process for the UPTAC B.Tech admissions. Followed by a spot round. Candidateswho failed to secure admission in any of the counselling rounds can apply for the spot admission round.

The UPTAC BTech spot round admission is conducted via offline mode. Candidates must bring the necessary paperwork and a demand draft made payable to the Finance Officer, AKTU Payable at Lucknow, at the address shown on the website. Documents will be verified at the UPTAC Counseling Venue. Following that, candidates will then be assigned a seat and course at the appropriate institution based on their UPTAC UP B.Tech Admission 2024 exam score.
