The foundations of critical thinking and reading comprehension must also be strengthened. Since the paper is often easy to moderate, strive to make the most of your tries with an accuracy of 75 to 80%. Check out the tips to crack VARC in MAH MBA CET 2024 given below:Become Familiar with the Types of Questions
One of the primary steps that candidates must take to score well in the verbal ability section of MAH MBA CET is to understand each type of question that is asked in this portion of the exam. English grammar, verbal ability, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, cloze test, para jumbles, probable starters, choice of words, phrases, expressions, and reading comprehension are all included in the VARC component of MAH MBA CET. Reading comprehension is also included in this section. Fifty questions total, and fifteen of them are based on two or three passages. The final 35 questions are based on grammar and vocabulary topics.
Speed Reading with Focus and Attention
Read editorials in essential newspapers like The Hindu, Indian Express, and The Economic Times, and magazines such as Outlook, The Economist, India Today, etc, informative books, blogs, magazines, articles, and other reading material. Candidates must make it a habit to read as many books as possible. Ideally, grammar books of high school level are recommended. This will help the candidates to gain deeper insight into the areas of Politics, Economics, Philosophy, Sports, and Environment. Book/ novel reading should also be included in the preparation process. To ace this section, the candidates must polish their vocabulary and Grammar skills with the help of magazines, and newspapers along with basic Class 8 and Class 9 Grammar books to strengthen their fundamentals.
Be Attentive When Solving RC Passages
Reading the questions first and the passage second is a fundamental strategy for understanding RC passages. This will enable you to take notes on the important details as you read the section. Reverse reading will be useful in fact-based chapters but less so in inference-based parts, so bear that in mind.
Improve Vocabulary
It's simple to improve one's vocabulary in English. You can do it in your leisure time or while studying. Continually carry a dictionary with you. Check the definition and usage of new words whenever you come across them. However, understanding word meaning alone won't be sufficient. You must be familiar with how it is used. Many words in the English language have distinct meanings depending on the context in which they are used. You'll probably encounter word-meaning questions in the MAH MBA CET that could be confusing.
Prepare an Exam Strategy
You must solve the VARC section first if English is your area of strength. There is no sectional time limit in the MAH MBA CET exam, and you can choose the order in which you want to answer the questions. As a result, finish your strong regions first. The VARC component of the MAH MBA CET 2024 should finish in under 30 minutes because it is typically of easy to moderate level. The RC portions are equally brief and simple.
If English is not your strongest subject, save it for last. After finishing the remaining questions on the MAH MBA CET exam, begin VARC. You should be able to answer 30 to 40 questions correctly.
Don’t Waste Time
Spending too much time on a specific question is not a smart idea because the MAH MBA CET is a speed-based test, much like any other MBA admission exam. Move on from that question if you are unsure about the answer. Pay attention to the questions you can correctly answer. Despite the fact that the MAH MBA CET does not have negative marking, you shouldn't waste time on a question you can't answer.
Choose Questions Carefully
Your exam score directly depends on the questions you choose. If your English is strong, you can answer any question; however, if it is not, you must pick the appropriate ones. Avoid parajumbles because they could make you confused. Try your hand at fill-in-the-blank, cloze, and sentence correction exercises instead. Answer questions about word meaning and vocabulary in Reading Comprehension as well. You'll get a 30 or above using this strategy.
Subject-wise preparation
To ace this section, the candidates must polish their vocabulary and Grammar skills with the help of magazines, and newspapers along with basic Class 8 and Class 9 Grammar books to strengthen their fundamentals. It has a reading and comprehension section which tests the vocabulary skills of the students. Candidates must focus on the usage of English and should try improving their vocabulary. They must focus on the grammar part along with Para jumbles, phrases and idioms, word meaning etc. It is important for the candidates to brush up their grammar and vocabulary skills, read magazines and newspapers, focus on editorials, etc.
Practice Rigorously
There is no secret formula to crack reading comprehension (RC) passages. Everything is subject to your aptitude for verbal comprehension. In view of this, reading is the greatest approach to getting ready for the VARC section of MAH MBA CET. Additionally, you should practice the previous year's question papers and mock tests. Your ability to read quickly will improve the more RC passages you practice. A selection of RC passages that were used in the MAH MBA CET test will also be presented to you. Furthermore, you'll learn how to filter out irrelevant details and concentrate on the information you need to know in order to provide accurate answers. 30 mock exams minimum should be practiced.
Prepare an Effective Study Plan
Only those candidates who have a productive study plan or routine can anticipate doing well in the VARC section. Maintaining the study schedule would help the applicants get the grades they were hoping for. Divide the time according to the themes and weights for the best preparation method. Candidates must create a month-wise preparation plan. The first three months of this study schedule should be devoted to understanding the exam format, and the scoring system, determining strengths and weaknesses, and analyzing every topic on the MAH MBA CET 2024 Verbal Section syllabus. You shouldn't be concerned if you can speak English well. The best way to study for this section of the MAH CET MBA, however, if reading comprehension is not one of your strong suits, is to concentrate on the non-RC questions, which make up the majority of the segment. Taking short notes during preparations will enable the candidates to revise well before the MAH MBA CET 2024 exam. Additionally, candidates also need to strengthen their weaknesses. The last two months must be dedicated to revision and practicing MAH MBA CET mock tests to increase speed and accuracy. A productive study schedule teaches students the value of time management and how to use their time efficiently.
Take Online Mock Tests
Solving one mock test every day helps to evaluate one’s progress and revision. It is imperative to evaluate one’s performance after completing every mock test. This will enable the candidates to pay extra attention to weak areas. Candidates are required to take mock tests as seriously as the actual MAH MBA CET exam. Candidates must try to complete each section within the stipulated time. This helps the test-takers to analyze how much time they are taking for solving each section and how they can reduce it.
