WBJEE 2025 Ranking Methodology

Based on the subjects/ papers attempted in WBJEE 2025, the admission authority shall prepare a Merit Rank list by considering the score obtained by the students in the WBJEE examination. The General Merit Rank will be allocated to the students as per the following method –

  • The General Merit Rank (GMR) will be allocated to students based on his/ her score in WBJEE Paper – I & II together.

  • The admission authority shall do the ranking in descending order of the overall score secured by students in all subjects.

  • Apart from the GMR merit position, a separate merit position will be allocated for a specific category of students. For example, SC Rank, OBC-B Rank, TFW Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A-Rank, etc.

  • WBJEE counselling 2025 and seat allotment will be done based on GMR only.

  • In case of a tie, tie-breaking rules will be applied.

  • students who do not get a rank in WBJEE are not eligible for the WBJEE counselling process. These students will not be included in the GMR.
