MICA Ahmedabad Selection Process 2026

The PGDM selection process at MICA Ahmedabad takes place in three stages – fulfilling the eligibility requirements, qualifying in CAT/XAT/GMAT exam, qualifying in MICAT written exam and performance in Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). Check the detailed selection process for the PGDM and PGDM-C programs below.

Meeting the Eligibility Criteria

You must fulfil the following eligibility requirements for seeking admission to the PGDM and PGDM-C programs at MICA Ahmedabad to avoid cancellation of the provisional admission:

  • If you are aspiring to seek admission to the Post-graduate Programmes (PGP) at MICA Ahmedabad, both PGDM (C) and PGDM, you must have obtained a Bachelor's degree (10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • If you are appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination, you are eligible to apply. You are also qualified if you have completed other degree requirements and are awaiting results. In this case, you are required to produce a certificate from the principal/director/registrar/head of the department of the institution/university, latest by June 2026.
  • The certificate must validate, on the date of issue of the certificate, that you are currently in the final year of Graduation or awaiting final results, or have completed all the other requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification.
  • However, you must note that if you are selected and can successfully submit the above-mentioned certificate, you will become eligible to join the programme provisionally. The admission will be confirmed only after the submission of the final mark sheet and certificate that act as proof that you have completed your bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification.

MICA Ahmedabad Selection Rounds

After the XAT results are announced, the scores in the XAT exam will be considered to shortlist candidates for the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

  • The first step is to pass a qualifying round, i.e. Section A (Psychometric test), but it is not taken into consideration when creating the merit list.
  • If you qualify in section A, your relative performance in the XAT 2026 exam will be considered. The scores that you obtain in the XAT 2026 exam shall be taken into account during the shortlisting process for the subsequent stages.
  • Next, you must appear for a Descriptive Test (Section B).
  • If you qualify for the GE/PI rounds based on your XAT performance, you will be evaluated based on all 4 sub-sections of Section C of MICAT that include Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and General awareness.
  • Normalisation of Section C scores will be done by using the minimum cut-off and percentile, and raw scores for each sub-section.
  • Your performance in Section B will be evaluated only if you qualify in Section C. Notably, there is a sectional cut-off (percentile and raw scores) in both sections C & B.
  • You will be shortlisted based on the Composite Score formula of 50% XAT performance and 50% MICAT performance.
  • The composite score for final selection will be calculated based on the following parameters:
    • MICAT score
    • XAT (or CAT/GMAT) score
    • Performance in Group Exercise
    • Performance in Personal Interview
    • Academic background and overall profile
