Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Abdul Quddhose posted the matter for hearing on April 26, 2018, Thursday before a bench headed by Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh.

The petition was filed by an advocate, Mr. Kalimuthu Mylavan. The petitioner alleged that the CBSE had assigned exam centres against the preference of the candidates. Many students will have to travel to another state to give the exam. While filling the online application for NEET-UG 2018, students were allowed to give three exam centres as preferences within their state. However, CBSE has not assigned exam centres as per the given preferences. Therefore, CBSE must take steps to re-allocate the exam centres, he submitted.
