According to authorities, on Sunday. 6th March 2022, approximately 1.36 lakh candidates appeared for the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) written examination for the positions of Accounts Assistant available in the union territory.
As per a JKSSB representative, the CCTV monitoring facility, which was used for the first time in the UT to monitor the exam, assisted in detecting some candidates using unethical methods and an invigilator engaging in unwelcome activities.

According to JKSSB official authorities, the conducting body successfully executed the optical mark recognition-based objective type written test for the post of accounts assistant (finance) at 722 locations spread across 19 districts.

As per the data, approximately 1.36 lakh of the nearly two lakh candidates who applied for 972 positions attempted the test. This constituted about 70% of the total applicants. The JKSSB implemented live CCTV surveillance and biometric attendance capture to improve transparency and fairness during the examination process.
The spokesperson confirmed that 722 magistrates, as many observers for the centres and superintendents, and approximately 8,100 examiners were responsible for the examination's smooth conduct. The representative added that flying squads, general observers, and chief inspectors were also nominated for efficient monitoring and surveillance.
