Gandhi Medical College (GMC), Bhopal, organised the silver jubilee alumni meet of the 1991 MBBS batch on its campus on Saturday, December 24, 2016 under the title of 'Rubaru'.

The function saw the students and teachers celebrating together to commemorate the occasion. The teachers were felicitated for their unbeatable contribution in shaping the doctors who studied in the college. Batchmates who came with their families were also introduced on the occasion at the event. A musical event was organised with great fanfare adding to a gala dinner along with it after the event.
At the three- day celebration, around 90 doctors from the different parts of the country and the globe participated in the event. 10 participants came from the following countries:
- UAE
- UK
- USA
As a part of the celebration a souvenir titled 'Anhad' was also released in the presence of the teaching faculty and currents students. Bhopal-based senior cardiac surgeon Dr. Anand Yadav, the Editor of the magazine and also President of the organising event, said that the souvenir celebrates the ethos and the spirit of the timelessness of bonds. It also celebrates the relationships that brought all the alumni for a reunion programme by breaking the barriers of distance.

Leading gastroenterologist from Bhopal Dr. Virendra Singh Chowdhury, who was also the organising Secretary of the event said that he really appreciated and acknowledged all his classmates who have come from far off countries to attend this function. He also conveyed everyone his thankfulness from for participating and making the occasion a worthwhile event.
