At an address at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, the Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javedkar unveiled HRD Ministry’s plans to open 20 new world class institutes for Research & Innovation in India on June 30, 2017.
This move has been made to encourage youngsters to invest more time in scientific researches for innovation in technology. Mr. Javedkar envisioned sustainable prosperity in this field and assured continuous aids for premiere research institutes like IISc.

He further emphasized that the implementation of Goods & Services Tax (GST) in India will bring enough funds to the government, which will then be utilized for health, education, research & innovation.

IISc Director Anurag Kumar were also present during the address. According to the 2017 budget, Rs. 79,686 crore was allocated to the education sector, compared to the Rs. 72,394 crore in 2016, an increase of Rs 7,292 crore.
