This year about more than twenty thousand will be appearing in the board examinations for Class 10th and 12th conducted by CBSE in Ajmer region, examination starting from 1 March 2016.
In comparison to last year, about 20k students increased for Class 10th and 12th examination this year. The Ajmer region includes Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
As per CBSE information last year in 2015 examinations, about 2,71,715 students registered for Class 10th and 12th examinations. While this year, the number has increased to 2,91,997 students. CBSE has already released the timetable of both the exams, as per which Class 10th exams will get over on March 28, and while Class 12th will go on until April 22.
For Class 10th exam alone, 1,67,681 students have registered in 2016. Of these 55,537 boys and 37,459 girls have registered. For Class 12th, 1,24,296 students from different streams like arts, commerce and science will appear for the examination, of which more than 8 thousand are appearing as private students while 67,260 are boys and 57,036 are girl students.
Students of Class 10th of CBSE in Ajmer region prefer board based exam rather than school-based exams. The former gets answer sheets evaluated by external evaluators while in the latter answer sheets get evaluated by school teachers of the same school. This year, a total of 1,67,681 students are appearing in the Class 10th exam including 92,996 in board-based and 74,685 in school-based exams. Since the School Based system was in place, the pass percentage of all schools has shot up exceptionally.
The CBSE is all set for the upcoming examinations and has formed a flying squad at different levels to inspect the examination process. “We have made appropriate security for the question papers and have also written to the SP of all districts for adequate security measures, said an official.
