At the 23rd Convocation of National Law School of India University (NLSIU) at Bengaluru’s Nagarbhavi 611 students has been awarded their degrees where Chief Justice of India, H.L. Dattu presided over the convocation, who is also the Chancellor of NLSIU.
Students received degrees including NLSIU’s flagship course BA LLB (hons.). Students graduated in masters of Business Law, Doctor of Law. Degrees were handed over to those who completed PG diploma in Human Rights Law, Medical Law, Child Rights Law and also Cyber Law and Cyber Forensics.
D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister of Law and Justice was also present on the occasion. Other dignitaries included the Chief Justice of Karnataka and other Supreme Court Judges took part in the convocation.
However the security had been tightened at the university campus in the backdrop of reports of a Supreme Court judge receiving anonymous threat calls for rejecting 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon’s mercy plea.
