A total number of 56,429 applications were received for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) 2016 examination. The test will be conducted on September 11, 2016 . The examination is being conducted for the candidates who wish to qualify for the teaching positions in various colleges and universities across the state. The test is being carried out for every two years.

Andhra University (AU) has been given charge to conduct examination for the first time. Osmania University conducted APSET 2014. As the Andhra Pradesh got separated, AU has been given responsibility for the same. The examination will be carried out in 11 centres across the state.
The admit cards for the examination will be issued one week before the date of examination. The candidates can download the admit cards from the official website of APSET, once they are released.

The University issued the notification on June 30, 2016 . The application process was closed on July 30, 2016.
