The 5 th Convocation Ceremony of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), to celebrate the graduation of 247 students from its different courses and programmes, was recently held at its premises.
The Chief Guest for the was Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO at InMobi. At the function, he delivered the convocation address. Director of IIIT-Delhi, Prof Pankaj Jalote, delivered the Annual Report of the institute.

Prof. Jalote said that IIIT Delhi is very well focused on research. More than 100 conferences and journal papers are published by students graduating this year.

The campus of IIIT Delhi is spread across 23 acres and currently has a student strength of 1146 and its faculty strength stands at 50. Prof. Jalote also said that based on the high average compensations that IIIT-Delhi’s graduates are offered, the institute estimates that 800 alumni of IIIT will contribute over 100 crores to the GDP and 20 crores in income taxes this year. IIITD received a grant of 24 crores by Infosys Foundation. It was given for the establishment of Infosys Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI). It is one of the largest industry-supported research centres in the country. He also mentioned the top companies provide placements to the graduates of IIIT-D. They are -

The Director also said that to promote entrepreneurship, a grant of 1.5 crores was given by the Delhi Government. IIIT Delhi, this year, also introduced a 3 rd UG program.
