The Andhra Pradesh Department of Higher Education has released the number of seats filled and a number of seats vacant in the various engineering colleges of Andhra Pradesh. The first phase of EAMCET counselling has been concluded last week and the classes for the first year students have been commenced.
There are 312 engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh out of which 60 colleges recorded 100% admissions. The four JNTU’s in Andhra Pradesh recorded full admissions. The interesting thing is that only one college in Prakasam district recorded 100% admissions. A total number of 966 seats have been filled in two colleges.
This year, the demand for the engineering seats has declined. A total number of 9 colleges didn’t even manage to get 10 admissions. One college hasn’t secured even one admission. The colleges of East and West Godavari Districts secured 70% of admissions. Most of the parents are showing keen interest to join their children in IITs and NITs . The colleges which have maximum placement percentage topped the admissions. This year, Deemed Universities also secured full admissions. The Department of Higher Education is planning to fill a maximum number of seats in the second phase of counselling which will commence from next week.
Meanwhile, the department has announced EAMCET ranks for the students who have passed in the Intermediate Supplementary Examinations. The candidates who are not satisfied with the seat allotment in the first phase of counselling can attend for the second phase of counselling.
