The seat allotment process for the engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh was concluded on 27-June-2016. 40% of seats are still vacant and haven’t been filled in the first phase of the counselling. The government is planning to conduct the second phase of counselling in the second week of June.
There are 318 engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh which offer a total number of 1,09,479 seats. Out of them, 69,197 seats have been filled whereas 40,282 seats are vacant. The University engineering colleges received 100% admissions. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Anantapur and newly established JNTU at Narasaraopet, Guntur have completed their process of admission and ready to kick start the classes from 1-July-2016.
Apart from these, a total number of 58 engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh haven’t got more than 50 admissions. There are 17 University engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh which have 4,275 seats out of which 4,253 seats have been allotted.
The colleges are gearing up for the commencement of new academic year. Most of the colleges are going to organize orientation programs on the first day for the first year students. Whereas some colleges are planning to welcome fresher students with a grand freshers day celebrations.
The government is planning to fill a maximum of vacant seats in the second phase of counselling as students who have passed Intermediate in supplementary examinations will be attending the counselling.
