Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences handed 87 degrees to the fourth batch of students during the college’s convocation ceremony.
Vijayalakshmi Balekundri, known paediatric cardiologist and senior surgical oncologist Kodaganur S. Gopinath, Minister of State for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil, RIMS dean-cum-director Kavita Patil, lecturers and heads of various departments and parents and students attended the ceremony.
Graduates received their medals, graduation certificates and mementos. A student, Meenakshi Yadav grabbed the award for emerging topper and also bagged two subject-wise topper awards for securing highest marks in obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics. Garvita Solanki and Asma Jasmin bagged topper awards in general medicine and general surgery subjects respectively.
Gautam R., who bagged the best student of the outgoing batch award, got an opportunity to address the audience.
