The academic year at Andhra Pradesh Engineering Colleges has been commenced on 1-July-2016. Initially, the government announced that the classes for the first year students would begin from 27-June-2016 . Due to the delay in the announcement of new fee structure the allotment of seats have been delayed. The government has clearly stated that it is mandatory for the students who have been allotted seats in the counselling need to report in the college on the first day.

The junior students were warmly welcomed by the senior students of various colleges. Most of the colleges organized orientation sessions for the first year students and explained the academic pattern as well as rules and regulations of the college. The students who have qualified in AP EAMCET have been allotted seats in various colleges through counselling which was held from 6 th June to 18-June-2016.

Most of the colleges gained more than 70% of admissions. This year, most of the parents did not join their children in the college in which the seat was allotted. They joined their children in top most institutions of Andhra Pradesh. They have sought admission through management quota. There has been heavy competition for the seats in management quota in the reputed colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Most of the parents expressed that they have joined their children in those colleges which have good placement percentage.
The Andhra Pradesh EAMCET examination was held on 29-April-2016 . Around 1,30,000 s tudents qualified the examination.
