Admission Notice- IIT Guwahati Announces Admission for Ph.D Programs 2016

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati inviting applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in the department of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biosciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Design, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities & Social Sciences, Centre for the Environment, Centre for Energy, Centre for Linguistic Science and Technology and Centre for Nanotechnology for the session July 2016.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Ph.D in Engineering Program: Candidates should have master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences/Veterinary Sciences/Pharmacy in a relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks.

For Ph.D in Design Program: Candidates should have M.Arch/M.Des degree or M.Tech/ME degree in a relevant area, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.

For Ph.D in Science Program: Candidates should have master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Design in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.

For Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences Program: Candidates should have master’s degree in Arts/Commerce/Science in a relevant area with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.

Selection Procedure:

The institute reserves the right to call a limited number of candidates for written test and/or interview/portfolio review, if required, based on the performance in GATE/ NET/ CEED/ INSPIRE, grades/marks in the qualifying examination, etc.
