Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2016 have been released by KEE (Karnataka Examination Authority). The exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 1 and 2, 2016. KCET is a state level examination which is held for admissions to undergraduate courses offered by institutes in the state of Karnataka.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates interested in applying for this exam must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. the higher secondary examination (Class 12 level) or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Along with Physics and Mathematics, the candidates must have passed the qualifying exam with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Electronics/ Computer Science as optional subjects.
Candidates belonging to the general category, are required to obtain a minimum of 45 percent aggregate in the qualifying exam and the candidates belonging to the SC, ST, category one and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) category are required to have scored a minimum of 40 percent aggregate marks.
Test Pattern
The paper will be a multiple-choice based test with questions from Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The medium of the test will be English. Following is the distribution of marks, subject wise:
Physics: 60 ( Time allotted is 70 minutes)
Mathematics: 60 (Time allotted is 70 minutes)
Chemistry and Biology: 60 (Time allotted is 70 minutes)
Syllabus
The test will have questions from the syllabus of Class 12 exam of the state board.

KCET 2016 for Biology and Mathematics will be conducted on May 2016 at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm
KCET 2016 for Physics and Chemistry will be conducted on May 2, 2016, at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm
KCET 2016 for Horanadu and Gadinadu students will be conducted on May 3, 2016
