The VELS University, Chennai, is inviting applications for materializing the application to both part-time as well as full-time Doctorate of Philosophy i.e Ph.D programs offered in Engineering and Law, Management Studies & Commerce, Languages, Computing Sciences, Basic Sciences, Life Sciences, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the academic session of 2016.
Eligibility Criteria-
Full Time Ph.D Program: Candidates who have qualified for master’s degree with not less than a second class or as equivalent grade and in the case of examination where classification does not exist, a minimum of 50% of marks in the qualifying examination in the subjects in the faculties of Arts, Science, Fine Arts, Indian and other languages, Management, Commerce, Engineering, Para Medical Sciences etc., and CA, CFA, ACS or ICWA degree are eligible.
For Part-Time Ph.D. Program: Any citizen of India irrespective of his/her employment status, and working within Tamil Nadu who wishes to pursue doctoral research is eligible.

The application form will also be issued by the University office on payment of Rs.1100/- or through post by paying an additional amount of Rs.100/- i.e., a total of Rs.1200/- in the form of DD drawn in favor of "The Registrar, Vels University" payable at Chennai.
The duly filled in application along with all enclosures should be submitted to the university office either in person or through post.
The Selection Procedure-
A Common Entrance Examination is taken and based on the performance of the candidates here, there is a viva-voce conducted by the departments concerned.
