The International Centre of Savitribai Phule University, Pune has started the online admission process for the students belonging to foreign countries, Persons of Indian Origin, Overseas Citizens of India, Children of Indians working in Gulf Countries and South East Asia for the next academic session starting from 2017-18.
In a press release, the University stated that the colleges must submit the details and information about various post-graduate and undergraduate courses conducted in its affiliated colleges and institute. This shall necessarily include points like - fee structure, the number of seats, etc. so that the information can be made available to all the international students at a clink on the International Centre's website.

The University in its notice also urged the affiliated colleges to not include the intake details of courses that come under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE)
Savitribai Phule Pune University was previously known as Pune University. It is one of the most popular educational Institutes of Maharashtra. There are around 235 research institutions and 450 colleges affiliated to the University. The University has a total enrollment of around 5,00,000 students in its different graduate and undergraduate courses. The University offers courses in Science, Arts, Commerce, Langauge and Management Studies.

The University was established in 1948 and named after Indian social reformer Savitribai Phule, who took up yeoman service for the emancipation and empowerment of women through education. The University has been ranked 3 rd by Times Higher Education Rankings.
Every year, a lot of student from different countries enroll into the University's various courses basis its reputation as one of the centre's of excellence with state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities, both in classrooms and hostels.
