AIIMS Bathinda begins classes for its first MBBS batch on 26th August 2019. Forty students have been admitted to the MBBS course for which 14 faculty members will be engaged.
The classes are being conducted at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot . It is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The permanent campus of AIIMS Bathinda is coming on the outskirts of the city on the Bathinda-Dabwali road on 177 acres and will also have a nursing college. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.950 crores. Till then the classes will be held at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot.

The OPD on campus is likely to start from 1st September, with Bathinda Deputy Commissioner B Srinivasan informed that work on the three-story building is almost complete. Construction work is almost done only the finishing touch is left.

Establishment of AIIMS Bathinda will provide students who are keen to take up a career in medicine with an opportunity to build a career in the same.
