All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna and Indian Institute of Technology, Patna have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for an institutional collaboration between the two institutions based on product innovation, education, medical services, research and technology commercialization. The MoU was signed by the Directors of AIIMS Patna and IIT Patna, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singh and Dr. Pushpak Bhattacharya respectively. The event also witnessed the presence of the Heads and Deans of various departments of both the institutions.
The collaborative approaches covered under the signed MoU will foster works of the researchers on common topics that would benefit both the institutes. The initiative will help in the development and growth of the intellectual properties of the two institutes, hardware and software materials including other deliverablse required to meet the needs of the collaboration.

With this collaborative effort, the areas of medical electronics and technology would serve as a plus point for research work conducted between the two institutes. IIT Patna’s Professor In-charge of the Incubation Centre, Pramod Kumar Tiwari, present during the event said that the collaboration of technology and medical sciences would be a major advantage for institution’s incubation centre. The IIT Patna Incubation Centre is among the most active and high performing incubators in the eastern part of India that focuses on medical electronics (ME) and electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM).

Adding more to the benefits that will be facilitated by the collaboration, Pramod Kumar Tiwari also said that, the tie-up will also open the doors for the exchange of knowhows, researchers, students and ultra-modern infrastructure and related facilities that would be required for the successful working of the collaborative efforts of both the institutions.
