The AIIMS PG 2019 examination, which was to be held on May 5 has been cancelled for the candidates who have centres in Bhubaneswar. The Ministry of Health said in a tweet that the AIMS centes for PG exams in Bhubaneswar have been cancelled due to the damage caused by the cyclone Fani.
Fani has impacted rail, road, and air connectivity. So, AIIMS New Delhi has decided to cancel the exam centre in Bhubaneswar. The exam will take place later once things settle down. Three people have died in the cyclone as it went from being ‘extremely severe’ to ‘very severe’ and it is predicted that it will further go down to a ‘severe storm’ in the next few hours.

Odisha has been on high alert due to the cyclone and teams of the Army, Navy, National Disaster Relief Force and Coast Guard are there for the relief operations. Cyclone Fani has uprooted trees and caused damage to the buildings. More than one million people have been moved from the coastal regions to shelters.

AIIMS PG 2019 is for admission to five MDS courses and roughly 499/MD/MS seats in Basic Clinical and Clinical Sciences. In addition to the main New Delhi centre which was set up in 1956, there are six other AIIMS colleges in cities across India. The colleges are AIIMS Bhubaneswar, AIIMS Bhopal , AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Patna , AIIMS Rishikesh , and AIIMS Raipur .
