AILET 2017: Rise in Number of Candidates Appearing for Exam

AILET 2017: Rise in Number of Candidates Appearing for Exam

AILET 2017 was organised by the National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) on May 7. Close to 17,054 law aspirant appeared for the exam in the paper pencil mode. The test was conducted from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Admission to various NLUs is done on the basis of AILET exam. Convenor of the AILET exam, Dr. G.S Bajpai informed that a total of 18,322 candidates had registered for the exam in order to take admission in the BA LLB programme offered by the universities.

Apart from this, 1095 and 173 candidates also applied for the LLM and Ph.D. Law programmes respectively. The number of students who appeared for the AILET exam has increased in 2017 as compared to last year.

In 2016, the number of students who appeared for the exam in order to take admission in BA LLB programme was 16,777.

The exam comprises a total of 150 objective type questions. Each question comprised multiple options and the candidates were given 90 minutes to mark the right answers.

According to the marking scheme of AILET 2017, candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. There is no negative marking for the wrong answers marked by the candidates.

AILET 2017 was held in 19 cities across India for students of different regions. These cities included Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Cochin, Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati, Cuttack, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kolkata, Jodhpur, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Varanasi, Bangalore and Jaipur.
