The online application process for All India Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) 2017 or NEET PG 2017 will commence from September 26, 2016 . The entrance test is scheduled to take place from December 5 to 13, 2016 . The last date for submitting the online applications is October 31, 2016. The examination will be held at 86 centres across 41 cities.The computer-based test comprises of 300 multiple choice questions. All the questions are based on the MBBS curriculum.

The examination includes admissions to All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses as well as state quota seats for all states and union territories. The scores of the examination are also applicable for admissions to private institutes and deemed universities across the country.

The officials of AIPGMEE said that the 50% quota does not apply to the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. However, all the remaining states and union territories have to follow the NEET guidelines strictly.
Note that, AIIMS, JIPMER and PGMIER will hold separate entrance tests twice a year for admissions to January and July sessions.
